Crixus is the best dog I have ever had. I can't believe how smart he is. Sadly, she passed away shortly after this photo was taken at the age of 8 years. He is a 3-year-old male German Shepherd. The dog on the right is Elsa. She is also a purebred German Shepherd, but due to her coat type her ears were too heavy and just would not stay up. They love to have their picture taken. To make a long story short, the end result was that he had a very large nearly cantalope size splenic tumor which ruptured ultimatley causing his untimely passing. He was playing and being his usual self at 8 in the morning and not even 12 hours later, he took his last breath. This came from our vet. As soon as Ace began to mope around we called our vet right away. They told us to bring him in right then, which we did and they got right down to business. He weighed his usual 90 pounds and had no hight temperature, but was breathing hard and would not move. Our vet examined him and said he was in a very grave state. His gums and tongue were fading in color so much so that she called the emergency vet and alerted them to our impending arrival. We took him there and they too, were on the ball. They did an ultrasound and it confirmed our vet's suspicions. He passed away before the ultrasound was even complete. These tumors grow very rapidly and 9 times out of 10 they are cancerous. We would also add dog-based salmon oil according to the instructions about a tsp. Often in the morning we would do sweet potato, yogurt, and a meat and dinner some of the other ingredients. Lunch we keep plain. Be sure you are washing your food and water bowls once per day with hot soapy water. It is also common for the fats used in these brands to be of lower quality and not as easily digestible, which might require your Bernedoodle puppy to eat more to get the nutrients they need. You do not need to spend that much money to keep your puppy in good health. Adult Bernedoodle Nutrition As your Bernedoodle ages, it no longer needs the extra calories for growth. Most dogs will become less active once they leave the puppy stage between 18 months and two years, which further reduces their need for calories. Simply cleaning the wrinkles during baths is not enough. At an absolute minimum, a Pug's wrinkles should be cleaned 3 times per week and ideally you will want to do this every day, up to 3 times per day after each meal. It only takes a few moments and plays a huge role in keeping the wrinkles free of odor, itching, and infections. How to Clean a Pug's Wrinkles Don't wait until you see foreign matter; get into a schedule of cleaning the wrinkles. Many owners find that doing this after each meal is a good way to remember this important grooming task. Options include a grooming wipe like Earthbath Facial Wipes for Dogs. Signs and symptoms of wrinkle infections: Odor - This is a top sign. There may be an odd musty-type smell. Itching - A Pug may paw at his face or rub his face into surfaces like carpeting or pillows. Discharge - Though not always present, untreated infections can produce a discharge that is often clear or white. Treatment, at home: Many cases of acute wrinkle infections can be successfully treated at home using an anti-fungal and antibacterial medicated wipe. The combination of chlorhexidine gluconate and ketoconazole are typically very effective for this. The affected areas should be wiped 2 to 3 times per day for 1 week and then once per day for the second week. Discard each wipe afterward; do not re-use these. Treatment, veterinary: For stubborn infections that do not respond to at-home treatment or in the case of chronic reoccurring infections, veterinary treatment will consist of a visual inspection and a sample taken via a swab that is examined under a microscope to determine the exact cause.
