My name is Cody! I had a bit of a rough start to life before coming in to care due to being attacked by other dogs. MUR came to get me and had some great doctors tend to my wounds and now I'm all ready to find my forever home. I am fully crate and house trained, so no worries there and I've been working hard on my leash manners as I can be reactive on walks. On good days I may not react to anything, but on bad days I may react to cars, dogs that react to me and skateboarders. I am learning to "shake it off" more now and have been consistently improving. I have been taking CBD oil and it has definitely helped me chill out. My foster parents say that I'm a super sweet guys who just wants to be a lap dog all the time. It's true, I love cuddles all the time and hanging out on the couch at night with you is my favourite. During the day I love to chase balls and play in the yard. I would love it if you could help me keep working on that! I have done a lot of training lately and have participated in an online class with Pliant Pack Dog Training. I'm hoping that my new family will continue taking courses with me so I can keep growing and learning. I can be reactive but it has gotten so much better already, I just need some help to learn that cars and other dogs aren't so scary. I do best with positive reinforcement and someone who will talk to me when scary stuff is happening around me so that I know I'll be ok. I have been muzzle trained which comes in super handy, I sit perfectly to put it on now and it's been a great asset to my training! I will need an experienced handler but I know that MUR will set us both up for success. Due to my past, I would rather be the only dog in the home but have been making good progress making friends with some other dogs, with proper introductions. I have met some cats and it's possible I could do well sharing a space with dog savvy cats. I adore kids but can forget my own size and strength so would rather live with older kids who are sixteen years old or more. I would really love a calm home to call my own without too much hustle and bustle going on so that I don't get overwhelmed as well as a family who will take the time to do calm and slow introductions with new friends and situations. After diagnostics and a MRI Harley appeared to have had a hemorrhage in his spinal cord that caused a clot and burst. With aggressive and intensive physiotherapy the vets are cautiously optimistic that Harley will overcome his paralysis and go on to lead a normal life. Harley is no longer with us but in his honor we continue our fundraising efforts in order to help other the other boxers that find their way to Boxer Rescue Canada. We went with a bernedoodle because I have some pretty severe dog allergies in my family, and he is likely to be a lot less allergy-inducing than most dogs! First off, Boxers are the absolute best family members imaginable. Luke and I gained our first boxer family member in .From the very beginning, we were hooked! We then gained our newest addition, Diva and boy does her name fit her well! We were overjoyed with our family fur-members and wanted to provide joy to other families. That is when we decided we wanted to breed Boxers and bring love and happiness to other families, just as our Boxers brought love and happiness into ours. Our family continued to grow, as did our happiness and joy! We now have 8 boxers and one spayed boxer mix. All are our fur-kids come first and foremost! Diva and Sergeant had their first litter in .Since then, we have learned so much about the breed and about producing healthy puppies. A lot of thought and research goes into each and every breeding. In the early part of , we started showing. This was such a new experience for us, but we enjoyed it so very much! Bailey was our first girl to show and she had a blast! Her face would light up when trotting around the ring. She obtained her International and National Champion Title that weekend and we were so very proud of her! It was not hard to see that this was something he enjoyed so very much! We couldn't wait to get them back out there for the next show! In September of , we went to 2 shows! The first show was a UKC show. Captain and Bailey competed and had a blast. Captain obtained his UKC Champion. Bailey obtained all of the points needed and is now only waiting for her competition wins. We cant wait to call her a UKC Champion too! Captain gained his National, International and Honors Ch. At only 3 months old, Dawn made it to Best of Show during this show! It is the best feeling in the world to see the smiles on their faces and their eyes lighting up! They all had a blast! Captain obtained his Honors Bronze Champion Title. Both girls did well. They both won first in each of their classes and Dawn won Reserve Best of Breed in all four shows. We were unable to attend due to puppies being at home, but didnt want the girls to miss out on a great weekend of showing! Dawn got first in class for all three shows. Benelli got first in class all three shows. Benelli also got Reserve Best Female in two show and Best female in one show. For being at a show without mama and dad, the girls did so good! Im so proud of them and a special thanks to Angie for talking the girls! We look forward to the upcoming shows and we are so very excited!! She wanted to catch the line instead of the lure! Anyways, they all had a great time and we will certainly be back for more! Harley and Captain got to attend the Norman show! Harley won Reserve Ch x3 shows. Captain and our friend Junior handler Alicia Hood won x1 best Junior class! They both did great! Can't wait until the next show! We earned a total of 9 titles in both Dock Jumping and Precision Coursing! Harley showed in a couple of shows there, but did not place she was too busy worrying about diving and Captain got to strut around in the TOP 10 Boxer ring! Huge Congratulations to these girls!!
