And to be honest, moms disciplining their unruly children is definitely so much cuter to watch in the animal kingdom. And one Labrador mom was caught on camera putting her two pups in their place after the two tykes kept on fighting. Puppies are by nature, very playful little balls of fluff. But sometimes, like with all kids, there are times when the play can get a little too carried away and turn rough — and those little puppy teeth can be sharp! In the video, the two adorable Labrador pups are seen playing on top of a blanket. It quickly started getting rough. One pup even was shoved off the edge of the blanket! Noticing that her babies were getting a little rambunctious, mama decided to step in. She started nipping at one of them to try and end the rough-housing session. Getting fed up with her children acting like brats, the mama then barks at them to stop, however, one of them actually barks back at her. She lays down the law by loudly barking at them. In fact, they kind of just sit there on the blanket looking ashamed. Since the whole thing was filmed on camera, the end is quite hilarious since after giving her kids what appears to be a lecture, the mama dog then turns and looks at the camera. Needless to say, this video was quite a hit with viewers, many of whom dropped comments. I had it with you two fighting! You stop it now or severe punishment will be dealt!!! Are we clear?!?! This is where we, the humans, get things wrong by thinking "if I correct him I might hurt his feelings. Mom, Bailey, gave birth to 7 beautiful little Golden Retriever puppies six-weeks ago. Can you smell that puppy breath! I Can!! If you watched this six-week-old litter of puppies for a long time, you might see one or more of the puppies decides to attack some area of Baileys body for a fun game of tug-o-war. Remember, Bailey has been caring for her puppies for weeks now, day and night and most likely is becoming a bit tired of them too. So as we continue to watch, perhaps one of the puppies now decides to start chewing on her tail. At this point Bailey most likely will give him a quick nip on his booty to say "Stop That! If the puppy continues with his game of chew-on-mom, she probably will yet again give one more quick bite and maybe this time she will even throw in a shake by the scruff of his neck or what ever she can grab just as a little reminder to say "Stop That! Once the bad behavior has stopped Bailey usually will then give kisses and in her way let him know she still loves him, after all, she is Mom. The Puppy is happy because he got disciplined and bounces off to play as if nothing ever happened. What Lessons Have Been Learned? As you can see, the order of the pack leader was established, rules and boundaries were identified, the alpha dog took charge and handled it, the puppy completely understood, and all is well in the puppies world. Can you see how Bailey is the "Alpha Dog" here and the puppy understands the basic principles of what holds the pack together? He understands that discipline is necessary, but he also realizes that without discipline from an appointed Leader of the Pack, this now opens up the door for someone else to establish the "alpha dog" role. When you bring your puppy home who will be the alpha dog, you or him? Without this, your world and your dogs world will be a mess! Always be calm but confident when dealing with your puppy dog. Always use a confident voice with your puppy dog not aggressive this type of voice is considered hostile behavior. So to sum it up. A video that I saw a while ago is doing the rounds again on social media. I often just try and ignore these things, as the points made are so utterly stupid that I hope most people will see through them easily. However, this one is cropping up a bit too much, so I thought I better take the time to address it. She exhibits calming signals lip licking before entering the room where her pups are kept and proceeds to freeze when her pups approach to suckle and then snap repeatedly at them. The puppies scatter. They exhibit calming stress signals e. Some even appear to hide behind a chair, while others cower. They are clearly confused. Some attempt to approach cautiously again and the mother once again freezes and snaps. Even when two pups sniff her tail from behind, she turns around snarling at them. All the balanced trainers shout. It is normal! The behaviour of this mother indicates extreme stress. Freezing is one of the 5F survival behaviours flight, fight, freeze, fiddle about or faint that occurs when a dog is faced with a threat. A competent mother dog does not see her puppies as a threat. This poor dog is obviously incredibly stressed and is NOT coping with her puppies at all. The puppies are highly stressed and confused by her behaviour. I would be seriously concerned as to how these interactions would affect their social and emotional development and would, as a matter of urgency, seek to make changes to that environment and to how the mom and pups are cared for, to prevent further interactions of this nature. Mother-pup interactions are extremely important for social and emotional development. Does this mean a mother dog will never snap at her pups? Just as with all dog-dog interactions, there might occasionally be a miscommunication and a mother might be pushed to sufficient annoyance that she does warn a pup to back off. Socially and emotionally healthy mothers will seldom need to do this and will give the pup the opportunity to respond to more subtle warnings, before snapping. Emotionally healthy mothers will certainly never bite their puppies or harm them in any way. Anything they may have to say on how to train dogs or change behaviour is based on ignorance and should be ignored. I know these are strong words, but it really is time that we stopped entertaining such nonsense and giving people who are not qualified to give an opinion a platform to spout it from. We are human beings with the ability to weigh up research and evidence and to come up with the kindest and most effective training methods that are good for both dogs and people. German Shepherd coat care procedures German Shepherds have a beautiful thick coat, requiring regular and thorough care. In the first place, it involves the correct selection of a full-fledged diet and various hygienic procedures. The owner of such a dog should know exactly what and when to do to ensure that the coat of the pet is properly cared for. Often German Shepherds tolerate water procedures and love to bathe if they were accustomed to it from an early age. Later on, an adult kept in an apartment should be bathed with special products two to four times a year: in autumn, spring and summer. In winter, the coat is sometimes cleaned with snow outside. Water procedures performed in winter can cause the dog to fall ill. If there is an urgent need to bathe the pet during this period, the room allocated for bathing should be well prepared and warmed up. If your dog gets dirty on a walk, wash him under the shower or use a wet towel to wipe his coat. If your pet is clearly attracted to water procedures in summer, you can shower him after walks.
