We got our first poodle in when my children wanted a dog and I was looking for one that didn't affect their allergies. Previously, we had only had strays and rescues but with the need for a "hypo-allergetic" non-shedding dog, I went on the search for a Poodle, as that was the dog I was brought up with and familiar. My children learned along with me as they helped with the pups. Years later, my love for Standards developed after having a couple Standard Poodles as pets. We never had any intention of rehoming Ponyo but it became clear it was what was best for her and we did the very hard thing of letting her go.
