First, because it's never too early to train good manners, and second, because your puppy is better under control now than 60 pounds later, when he decides to take off at miles per hour dragging you along the sidewalk. Definition Loose-leash walking means just that: walking your dog on a loose leash. When you walk your boxer puppy on a loose leash, there should be no tension; rather, the leash should be slack and loosely hanging down. Loose-leashing walking also means saying goodbye to achy arms and all those gasping, snorting and wheezing sounds from your Boxer when he pulls against the collar. This leads to much more pleasant "walkies" for you and your puppy. It is a known fact that it much easier training a puppy the right way from scratch than training an older dog with a history of pulling. Tools The best tools to train your boxer puppy to walk politely on a leash are a simple flat buckle collar and a leash. Adjustable collars work great for small puppies because you can adjust the size as your boxer puppy's neck grows. Because of the boxer's neck size in relation to the skull, this breed may at times find it easy to back up and slip out of a traditional buckle collar. In this case, a martingale collar may come handy. This collar is built in such a way as to become snug when your boxer tries to pull his head out of the collar and there is tension in the leash. Unlike a choke collar, which as the name implies cuts off your dog's air supply, martingale collars just tighten enough to prevent your dog from escaping without actually choking; more control for you and less risks of injury for your puppy. See Resources For older puppies with a reputation for pulling, a no-pull harness may work wonders. Principles Why does a dog pull on the leash? Simple: to move ahead. As much as this sounds like a riddle, pulling on the leash will no longer be a joke once your boxer puppy grows. Dogs pull simply because this behavior allows them to interact with their environment and because of the "opposition reflex", an innate predisposition to resist pressure. With loose-leash walking you are teaching your boxer puppy a whole new principle which is that pulling gets him nowhere, while a loose leash keeps him moving forward. Training Don't be fooled by the size and strength of your boxer puppy; boxers were bred to hunt and hold game as big as bears, boars and bison. Knocking you over and dragging you along for the ride of your life is very possible for an adult boxer. Make it a rule that when the leash is loose, you walk ahead and when the leash is tense you slow down and come to a stop. Also, make sure to reward your boxer puppy with high-value treats when he is in heel position so he makes the connection that great things happen when he is besides you. Duration Loose-leash walking does not happen overnight. The new training concept takes a while to seep into your boxer puppy's mind, but sooner than later, becomes second nature. Patience, consistency and determination pays off in the long run; just make sure you keep those training sessions with your puppy short, simple and sweet. Polite leash manners will help your boxer puppy become a polite member of society while preventing your arm from being pulled out of its socket 60 pounds later. More Articles. But at the moment, they need your guidance. For now, this includes sleeping next to you for the first few weeks, maybe even longer. Just have their crate or bed close to wherever you sleep. Our articles on sleeping through the night and establishing a nighttime routine will give you extra tips on getting through this phase. A puzzle toy or Kong will work great at making them feel like you leaving them is actually something quite fun. Potty training All new puppy parents expect potty training to be on the cards. It will help to remember your Boxer pup is a bit of a goofball. For now, we definitely want to let your pup get used to you and settle into their new home. Teach your puppy about surfaces — Different surfaces can feel strange to pups. Use surfaces like grass, moss, paving and sand. Basically, make their tail wag and we bet yours will too. Teach your Boxer their name. Teach your Boxer puppy to sit. Remember what we said about Boxers and their jumping? Recall — Trust us. Preventing resource guarding Resource guarding is where your dog fiercely protects something they have and will do everything they can to keep hold of it. Dogs can resource guard food, a toy, even a person. You can do this by teaching them that hands and touch can be a good thing. As always, back up your soft touches with some treats. Remember that consent is also a thing with dogs! Never force your Boxer to be handled or pick them up against their wishes. Socialization exercises to do this week Training to do this week Husbandry Tasks to do this week — Fireworks — Watch the world go by outside your house — Play dress up. Tweet Pin99 Leash training can be a difficult task for almost any puppy owner. Puppies are full of energy, and all they want to do is run around like maniacs to get rid of all that excess energy. Make no mistake, leash training is not something any puppy is interested in. This is an especially good tactic for Boxer puppies, because, in addition to being balls of energy, they can also be a bit stubborn at times. Putting the leash on the collar and then letting them run around the house as normal gets them used to the idea of the leash without hindering them in any way. Treats Treats are a great leash training incentive for your Boxer puppy. Instead, offer it a treat to get it to come to you. After a few tries, your Boxer puppy will get the idea that when it comes to you, it gets a treat. From their begin training your Boxer to walk on-leash by essentially baiting it with the treat. Rather than have your Boxer puppy come to you and then get the treat. Begin walking when it comes to you. Walk for a bit and then give it a treat. Positive Reinforcement As with any training, leash training requires positive reinforcement. In addition to getting a treat when it comes to you or walks with you, your Boxer puppy should also get a ridiculously high amount of praise. Walking on-leash should result in the biggest, happiest, goofiest reaction possible. This is especially true of leash training a Boxer puppy. They are high energy, and can be goofy. Never try to take the training faster than your Boxer puppy is willing. Negative Reinforcement Never use negative reinforcement. Never yell at your puppy, yank on the leash, or do anything that is aggressive or mean. These actions will not result in faster leash training. To begin with, they are painful. They can also result in injury. If you need extra control — and with a Boxer puppy, you might — consider a Gentle Leader. Gentle Leaders are essentially horse halters for dogs. They give you control of the head and make it next to impossible for your dog to drag, leap, or take control of the walking situation. They are painless, humane, and the best way to get a rough and tumble dog under control without the use of pain. They go their way, and they need a firm but gentle hand to ensure proper leash training. If you follow these tips, leash training your Boxer puppy should be relatively painless. Remember, always exercise positive reinforcement and lots of patience. If you do that, you should be all good on the leash training front. Did you have success leash training a boxer puppy? Riverside, CA About We only produce a litter for the purpose of improving on what we have and always keep a puppy or two, we always reserve the top picks for our selves from each breeding. Some years we produce no pups and others we may have a few litters, we are not a large kennel and don't keep many dogs ourselves as we like them all to have plenty of time with us in and out of the house. Many of our dogs, especially our studs are raised and live with our friends and we co own or keep breeding rights on them this has proved to work out really well for both us the dog's and there new family. All of our pups are born and raised in our home and all of our dogs are family members that will live out there lives with us,they are not retired to live with strangers or sold on to someone who wants to have a few litters out of them but remain with us for as long as they are around.I can honestly say I have never sold an adult American Bulldog on to another "breeder". .I really don't agree with passing dog's around especially bulldogs. .Contact Bybee American Bulldogs. Contact American Bulldog The American Bulldog has a very sturdy and muscular build, weighing anywhere from 60 to pounds at a height of 20 to 28 inches. This breed has a large head with strong jaws with ears that may be cropped, semi-prick, rose, or drop. The coat is short and soft coming in any variation of colors. Temperament Though larger than the English Bulldog, the temperament of the American Bulldog is very similar. A gentle, affectionate dog that loves children and can be considered a big lap dog, the American Bulldog is alert, confident, and loyal to its people. Brave and strong-willed, the American Bulldog will do best when trained from a young age on and with an owner that isn't afraid to establish themselves as a strong pack leader. A breed with strong protective instincts, Bulldogs are known for their acts of heroism towards their owners and can sometimes be reserved with strangers. American Bulldogs require plenty of regular exercise to prevent boredom and encourage it to be a well-trained dog during the day. Care The short, fine coat of the American Bulldog requires minimal grooming and care, however, similarly to the English Bulldog, the American Bulldog has been known to drool and slobber. Are you interested in purchasing a American Bulldog? House-trained, Story You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Introducing: Henry! He is an approximately 2 year old American Bully boy weighing 65 pounds. Henry was rescued by police from a serious neglect situation in Ohio. He does not require very much in terms of exercise. Favorite activities: Laying down with a human companion, eating from treat toys such as lick mats and Kongs, and sleeping. Good with cats, dogs, and kids over 6? He has good dog social skills and has been polite with introductions, even when the other dog is not polite! He does not seem very interested in playing with other dogs. He loves everyone so he should be great with kids. He does not soil his crate. He does not like being left out of social situations. He does great overnight in the crate and sleeps well with a dog bed in there. Walks well on a leash? No behavior challenges to note. Any Medical issues? He has some spots missing fur, but it is growing back. His paw pads are unusually deep and therefore hard to keep clean. While walking outside his paws get debris stuck in them. His toe jam needs to be cleaned out regularly or they grow yeast. What would be the best kind of home? He is not an active guy, so he will not make a good hiking buddy. He is not interested in dog toys and only plays in short bursts. View fullsize Both our chocolate Labradoodle and our Poodle are beautiful dogs with excellent temperaments. They are our family pets. Because we begin with a Labradoodle and a Poodle, rather than a Lab and a Poodle, our puppies are much more likely to have the non-shedding Poodle coat. A F1b Labradoodle has been back-crossed to a poodle in an effort to insure a non-shedding coat. Even though most f1b Labradoodles shed very little or not all, it is impossible to guarantee that any dog even doodles or purebred poodles will not shed at all. Hypo- means less hypothermia is having a lower than normal body temperature. No dog can be said to be completely non-allergenic. Studies have shown that doodles are less likely to cause allergies, particularly f1b doodles. The ideal is to keep as much of the Lab head shape and super-friendly personality as possible while getting the non-shedding Poodle coat as well as the dignified, less vocal characteristics of the Poodle. Our Labradoodle methodology is quite simple. First, we get quality dogs. This is why we wanted to have pick of the litter for our Labradoodle and our Poodle and why we only obtained puppies from reputable breeders that we knew we could trust. Second, we try to treat our dogs Labradoodle and Poodle well. We feed our Labradoodle and Poodle high quality food with plenty of protein, and give them wonderful socialization and opportunities for exercise. We have 12 acres along the Enoree River with trails, additional property next to a Greenville state park, and property on Lake Hartwell giving us the opportunity to take the dogs kayaking. We recognize the importance of socializing young Labradoodle puppies so they will not be fearful as they mature. Our Labradoodle puppies have lots of opportunities to play with our children, and water games are definitely on top of the list. Labradoodles love the water and so do my kids, as you can see below. A Labradoodle or mini Labradoodle puppy or any puppy cannot be completely reliable in the house until the puppy is about 6 months old. The simple point is that no matter what some breeders tell you you will be partially involved in the house training process unless you buy an older Labradoodle or mini Labradoodle , but we want to help you with that process. A one-year health guarantee; extended to three years for all who continue to feed TLC. We are concerned with finding really good homes for our Labradoodle and mini Labradoodle puppies. These non-chocolate Labradoodle puppies are also available to great families, but we know that Chocolate Labradoodles are the most desirable. The Labrador Retriever has a short coat that sheds. By breeding the F1 Labradoodle back to an unrelated Poodle, the chances of getting the highly desirable non-shedding Poodle coat increase exponentially. Some F1B Labradoodles are bred back another time to a Poodle in an effort to guarantee a Poodle coat. If high quality dogs are chosen to breed that have the head shape of a Labrador Retriever it is possible to get a puppy that is very similar in many ways to a Labrador, but has the beautiful non-shedding Poodle coat. Both Labrador Retrievers and Poodles are highly intelligent dogs, helping Labradoodles excel in smarts, train-ability, and a general desire to always please their owner. I went to meet Mike to talk about an upcoming litter and Bailey was sitting by herself. I pretty much changed my mind and wanted her immediately. She was introduced to a 6 year old cocker spaniel with and IVDD condition and they became best friends. Great Temperament, Incredibly smart and absolutely beautiful addition to my family. Mike has been following up since I got her checking to see if I had any issues. His training packet was detailed and if you follow the crate training and feeding regiment you will have no problems. Angelica I brought home an F2 labradoodle from here. My pups has already learned several commands within a few weeks of having him. The breeder has plenty of space for the pups and you can tell that there is a lot of care put into the environment. My dog has a great temperament and deals with people well. Upon the first meeting my pups was excited to greet people you can tell he had been socialized well. Mike does well with communication and answers any questions. Highly recommended! Javier Sanchez Got my black lab from Mike trained. He is very good and is comfortable with a crate, walking and great temperament. Overall an awesome dog from a great breeder! Maura Eaton My 12 year old son did all the research on Mike and his company. He had 5 star reviews across the board. Once we saw the picture of Zoey, a Chocolate Labradoodle, we knew we had to meet her. Mike's business is clean, the dogs are all loved by him and well trained. Zoey was Stage 1 trained. This is my first dog as an adult and Mike was excellent in providing advice and recommendations. After we adopted Zoey, Mike would periodically check-in on how Zoey was adjusting to her new family and home. As you can see in the pictures, she is very happy. Mike knew her personality well - smart, sweet and social. A perfect fit and addition to our family. He worked on training with the puppy before we brought him home, which was a big help in the adjustment! I would recommend Mike to anyone looking for a labradoodle puppy. Our puppy has been the best addition to our family and we have enjoyed working with Mike. John Schmadeke We were looking for a labradoodle puppy from a reputable and experienced breeder. Mike was super helpful, and we really appreciated that he cared so much about things like genetics and DNA testing for the dogs. His kennels are clean and organized, and his puppies are well cared for. He really loves his career and it shows! He has followed up with us on numerous occasions regarding the health and well-being of our puppy, and I always know I can reach him if I have questions. Thanks for everything, Mike! Yunhua Chen I have bought a stage 2 F1 labradoodle from Mike. His name is Zen, and just like his name, he is a well-behaved and well-trained little man. He only cried about 15 - 30 minutes during the first few nights and later he was sound asleep. I highly recommend Mike as a breeder because not only he deeply cares about the dogs, but also he has the expertise to make the dog the perfect match for you. Michelle Balchunas Mike was absolutely wonderful to deal with and very helpful with adding a new puppy to our family. If you are looking for a lab to add to your family we would highly recommend working with Mike. Charles Arnold Mike was a great help with our new puppy, Archie. Great experience… and a great dog. Junie is gentle, kind and very loving. She's also extremely athletic and smart. Working with Mike was a very smooth process and his "dog siting" service has proved helpful as I do travel on occasion. Having someone I could trust to care for Junie is super helpful. Mike James I recently had the fortunate privilege of working with Mike to find my next pup. For multiple reasons, the breed is perfect for me - the temperament, lifestyle often on the water , and hypoallergenic fits a tough lifestyle. I without hesitation recommend you work with Mike if you are looking for an amazing pup and great support network. Charlie is so gentle. He was just outside getting petted by his fan club, the neighbors. He licks. I got him the week of July 4th he was outside during that noise. He looks at noise. One of his other puppies was the same way, gentle. Day one he knew the trail through the woods back to our house. Charlie is a beautiful Chocolate lab with the softest hair. I got him at 16 weeks. You have no idea how helpful that is. Of course you want a healthy dog. Took the shots like a champ. The Vet remarked how firm his joints were. Yes he lets you brush his teeth! He goes to the door when he has to go. Another reason I wanted a 16 week pup. Peanut butter to continue gentle licks on my fingers. He always gets small chicken or liver for COME. You should see him come. Is Charlie gentle because some hunting dogs have a gentle mouth or is he gentle because Mike treated him right? Oh do exactly as Mike says on the take home instructions, he knows his dogs! Highly recommend! We brought our pup home with all the documentation of his superior genetics. Mike also sends several handouts which help prepare you for puppy ownership and ensure a smooth transition for your pup to his new home! In addition to his exceptional breeding he is exceptionally well-trained. We opted for a stage 2 puppy and not only does he sit, lay down, stay, he has an incredibly calm demeanor and his additional exposure to other dogs was also incredible. He is so well-tempered and well-behaved due to his additional training. We are so happy and in love with our sweet boy! Brent Viditz-Ward We were looking for a chocolate lab puppy for a long time from a reputable breeder and our experience with Mike was wonderful. He took time to get to know us and make sure that the dog was going to a good home and is always available to answer questions, give advice, etc. I highly recommend Mike and his puppies! M Fowkes Mike is a fantastic breeder. We got an F1 puppy from Mike. She is a sweet beautiful girl. Before she was born Mike knew what the puppies would look like generally, and was really easy to communicate with. He is very responsive when I had a lot of questions. He is like that even now that my puppy is 4 months old…available to answer questions and be supportive. Josie Palma-Aurelio We stumbled on this website when we were looking for our next fur baby. All the reviews speak truthful about Mike. He calls us to check on Nala for updates and gives us pointers on how to take care of her. Nala is such a lovable puppy and we are so happy to have her. We highly recommend! Juan Tellez Mike was a great helping my family and puppy get adjusted to our home. You can tell Mike has a lot of dedication and love towards his dogs. Snoop has been a great addition to our family! We are first time pet owners and Mike handheld us through the entire adoption process. His reference material, responsiveness and his genuine care for the puppies has helped us navigate the critical period of 12 weeks smoothly. The puppy is super smart outwitted me in a game of hide n seek when he was 10 weeks old! He is a bundle of joy! We are first time pet owners and had a lot of questions! He is always enthusiastic in answering any questions we have and supporting us before and after getting the pup! He cares about his dogs and pups and it shows in the research he has done and the knowledge he has about them! He has a lot of information on his website about the breed, food, toys and snacks! He also gives a couple of handouts when we book a pup with him and some when we take them home! Those helped a lot in the preparation for our pup! When you take them home, he also gives you details about the breed, vaccination records, and DNA testing done for the litter! Our girl, Shuri, is very energetic and curious! She does really well when we train her and has already learnt so much! For anyone looking for a labradoodle, Mike is the best! Jocelyn I highly recommend Mike. We are first time dog owners and he made the process so easy for us. Our labradoodle has made an excellent addition to our family!

Aggression is a serious issue and should not be taken lightly. A professional will be able to assess the situation and help you come up with a plan to address the aggression. Other Considerations To Keep In Mind With proper training and socialization, your Goldendoodle will learn to control their biting behavior and will be a well-mannered companion for years to come. However, the key is to start early and be consistent with your training. If you allow your dog to mouth and nip sometimes but not others, they will be confused about what is acceptable behavior. In addition to that, dogs are much more likely to pick up on good habits if you teach them from a young age. Finally, be patient! Like all dogs, Goldendoodles need time to learn what is expected of them. With a little time and effort, you can help your Goldendoodle learn to keep their teeth to themselves. Of course, it also includes lots of tutorials and resources on how to tackle excessive Goldendoodle puppy biting. Do not scream or hit your dog, as this will only make them more likely to bite again in the future. This will help your dog understand that biting is not an acceptable behavior. If your Goldendoodle continues to bite, you may need to seek professional help. When Do Goldendoodles Stop Biting? So, when do Goldendoodles stop biting? This is a common question among Doodle owners, and unfortunately, there is no single answer. One of the most common questions new Goldendoodle owners ask is when their puppy will outgrow the biting phase. Typically, Goldendoodles grow out of their biting phase once they get all of their adult teeth. Until your pup has grown into all of its adult teeth, there are a few things you can do to help discourage your pup from nipping. For starters, never play rough games with your Goldendoodle that involve hitting or wrestling. These games only encourage them to bite. You can also provide them with plenty of chew toys to help satisfy their need to gnaw. Early socialization is also vital, as this will teach your puppy how to appropriately interact with you, other people, and other pets. With a little time and effort, your Goldendoodle will learn to control their biting impulses and become a well-mannered companion. If your Goldendoodle is older than a year old and still biting, there may be an underlying issue, such as anxiety or boredom. The good news is that you can easily fix the boredom issue by giving your pup plenty of attention, playtime, and exercise. With the help of a professional, you can develop a training plan that will help your Goldendoodle learn to curb their biting impulses. Goldendoodle Biting: Final Thoughts Goldendoodles are wonderful, loving companions. However, like all dogs, they need to be properly trained and socialized in order to become well-mannered members of the family. While Goldendoodles are generally friendly dogs, they can sometimes bite due to excitement, boredom, stress, or fear. If your Goldendoodle is biting, there are a few things you can do to discourage this behavior, including providing chew toys, increasing mental and physical stimulation, and desensitizing them to their triggers. If the problem persists, seek professional help from a certified trainer or behaviorist. With some patience and training, you should be able to stop your Goldendoodle from biting for good. Moyen Goldendoodles are smaller than Standard Goldendoodles, and larger than Miniatures. Curiosity is a healthy habit for Goldendoodles, but biting should not be part of the process. However, if your new best friend is doing damage while exploring its surroundings, you must puppy-proof your home until they learn proper manners. Playing Dogs will instinctively bite and nip when they play with littermates as puppies. If this behavior is left unaddressed, mature dogs will continue to bite during playtime. Playful biting is not always harmful, but it can be if it gets out of control as your Goldendoodle matures. A Goldendoodle getting a belly rub from his owner. The Resolution When Goldendoodles bite during playtime, you must correct the behavior immediately. Give your pet a stern no command, and offer them an alternative to biting and chewing. Some dogs respond well when owners stop playing with them after biting and leave the room. This breed is intelligent and will quickly learn that biting is not welcome. Boredom Goldendoodles are smart dogs requiring adequate mental stimulation and physical exercise. If your pet is not receiving enough engagement throughout the day, it will become bored and chew or bite. Some animals may even bite at your hands and feet to get your attention when bored. You want to ensure your pet does not have a health condition that is causing them pain. Your vet may conduct x-rays or other diagnostic tests to rule out physical fractures or serious illnesses that may produce pain for your dog. Once you can pinpoint the reason for the behavior, you can use these successful methods to keep it from happening. You may need professional help from a trainer or veterinarian, but once your Goldendoodle knows how to behave, you will have a terrific and loyal friend. When Do Goldendoodles Calm Down? These cute pups are known for their energy and excitable nature, this is a perfect addition to your family, but you need to know how to manage the excitable moods. Like most breeds of puppies, as they age, they will become calmer. Most Goldendoodles will start to calm around months of age. People can sometimes feel confused as puppy teeth are lost at months, but you can still expect excitable behavior for months after this. When doodles are less than a year old, they generally have surplus energy, leading to intense periods of play and longer naps. So, if your doodle is larger, their puppy behavior can be harder to deal with as they have more strength; this can be difficult for an owner. Three Stages Of Aging There is a general three-stage experience that most Goldendoodles progress through. This will occur in most Goldendoodles but can vary. Do note that if your Goldendoodle is quiet and tired, this could signal something is wrong; always consult a professional opinion if this is the case. Puppy stage expect constantly high energy Adult stage still high energy, but gradually lessening Senior stage more restful These dogs tend to spend most of their lives in the second adult phase, but the most energetic stage is the first one. If you are looking for what size crate to get for your goldendoodle, click HERE Tips And Tricks Even though crazy energy is expected from your pup, you may want to find some resources or games that can help manage this behavior. Over excitement is expected from Goldendoodles, so these tips will not get rid of it. These are great ways to stop the energy from becoming undesirable behavior, though. In the early stage puppyhood , diversion and prevention are the best ways to minimize overexcitement. Most dog breeds need a healthy walk or play daily to tire themselves out; in this case, Goldendoodles have so much energy that this is one of the most important aspects of caring for one. If your doodle is overactive, it can help to take an hour of walk time daily to burn some of that energy. However, you may see an energy spike from just one missed session. A bonus tip for a good walk is to go somewhere where they can run around off-leash; this is great for an energy-filled doodle. Getting your dog active is the first step to take if you want to manage their behavior. Toys Can Be Helpful Playing fetch with sticks is a classic game and can help with overactive doodles, but consider investing in some specialized toys. If doodles are bored, they can become excited when something unusual happens, resulting in a crazy episode. Mental stimulation through toys can result in fewer overreactions and seemingly calmer behavior. Even a simple chew toy can help relieve stress, helping to reduce barking and overstressed out behaviors. Indoor dog games and toys are great, allowing doodles to play without the hassle of scheduling outside time. Good toys are rubber chew toys, tennis balls, stuffed animals, flavored toys, ropes, treat dispensers, puzzles, and squeaky toys. Note that squeaky toys are a favorite — so if you buy one, you will be putting up with additional noise! Scent Training Scent training or nose work is a simple pastime for Goldendoodles and can wear them out mentally and physically. This is also a great indoor activity. Inability to focus and lack of concentration are standard crazy doodle behavior. Scent training can be done at home to engage their attention and promote calmness. Good hides for Goldendoodles are boiled chicken, dried liver snacks, or even grated cheese; see what your dog reacts best with. Once your dog has found the hide, reward them with an extra set of treats. As you play, progressively make each hide more challenging to engage them. This could be done by placing hides in a plastic container that makes an interesting noise, getting your dog to reach into boxes with their nose, or reducing the number of hides but putting out extra boxes to search through. The increase in difficulty will help boost self-assuredness; while doodles often have self-confidence, this is still an excellent exercise for them. Sniffing is mentally and physically tiring for a Goldendoodle, which can help use up their crazy energy. However, it can help assess how you and your family react to their bouts of energy. This can reinforce the behavior, and the cycle repeats. Some even suggest practicing bringing the energy level down during playtimes. Try playing for a couple of minutes and then being calm for one. This shows your doodle the difference between play and calm and can help them get used to both. We can all be so busy with work and our lives, so scheduling in walkies can be difficult. Dog walkers are easy to find these days; thanks to the internet, try some helpful dog-walking apps, such as Rover, to connect with trusted walkers. This can take some of the pressure off of you and can keep your doodle active. A bonus to getting some help with walking is that if your doodle is extra active, you also have extra energy to play with them if someone has helped you walk them! Remember To Be Calm Sometimes if we are stressed, dogs can sense this and become anxious too. This can then lead to over-excitement, and undesirable behavior, which in turn stresses us again, and the cycle keeps escalating. Calm yourself and then calm your dog; practice just relaxing sitting around your dog. This is a great way to teach them patience and to help you not react to their energy. When your doodle sits calmly, remember to praise them for being good. Practicing a sit command is always a good way to train your dog; it helps create patience and be easy going about things that excite them. Overactive Behavior When A Goldendoodle Is Older Once the puppy stage is over, a reduction in energy levels and manic behavior is expected. Goldendoodles are fun and excitable for life! Excessive Barking Sometimes learned behaviors from puppyhood will continue later on in their lives, for example, problem chewing or excessive barking. This needs to be dealt with earlier to nip them in the bud. There are strategies and training to curb this problem, and it can be linked to learned puppy behaviors. Strategies include playing tricks and babying the doodle; you may also have to block out windows to stop excessive barking. If this action becomes painful, biting, or continues after 12 months of age, it can be time to seek advice from a professional or start at-home training. Play biting should stop significantly when the puppy teeth have been replaced; this should be at approx 8 months of age. However, the general rule of thumb is that by 3 years of age, they should not be hyper or crazy anymore. The key to addressing crazy doodles is to redirect the problem behaviors and to use positive reinforcement. Tackle each problem e. Key activities to help Goldendoodles are: Exercise daily; make sure to tire them out. His guardians set up a puppy training session with me to stop his nipping, address his resource guarding, potty training and basic obedience. Skye was a little subdued when I arrived for the session. His guardians told me this was better behavior than he normally exhibited. Sometimes dogs with lower confidence will act shy or reserved in new situations. A great way to help dogs or puppies with this problem is to teach them new tricks or commands. I also strongly recommended that the guardians look for socialization opportunities. Getting Skye around other dogs of a similar size, maturity and energy level will help boost his confidence in many areas. I got a firsthand look at some of his rambunctious behavior when the families son arrived home from school. Many puppies get mouthy and nippy when they are overtired. I think a lack of naps may be contributing here. I also recommended that the guardians consider setting up a puppy playpen that is attached to a kennel. This way they have a place that they can put the puppy any time that he starts get overly rambunctious. By putting him in a room and closing the door, we can help the puppy practice being alone for short periods and also influence him to take a nap. Because the puppy play area is gated off, we know that the puppy is safe. You can read about the puppy playpen that I set up for my dalmatian puppy quest by using this link. Because Skye has already started to climb up out of a smaller play pen the family sets up on occasion, they may also need to take a look at this link. A lot of this is a result of Skye having playful puppy energy and not being very socially experienced. Fortunately Skye will start a puppy socialization class tomorrow hosted by myself and a couple of my apprentices. Because he is getting off to a late start, it may be a slower process than if they had started introducing him to other puppies earlier, but he is absolutely young enough to rebound. By introducing a command word and associating it with the act of elimination and the reward at the right times, we can help Skye learn that there is a benefit to eliminating outside. Potty training is all about repetition, careful observation and rewarding the dog at the right time. After we wrapped up the potty training discussion, we moved into the living room so that we could practice having the dog come to us on command. A couple of minutes into this exercise, Skye wandered off on his own. When we came back inside, we finished with the recall exercise, sort of. He was doing some snacking earlier and Skye was more interested in looking for any food he may have dropped. By sitting in a circle on the floor a few feet away from one another and using hand motions, the command word at the right times and promptly rewarding Skye when he came on command, his family will be able to train their dog to come. I recommended that the family practice this recall exercise several times a day for the next week or so to really instill a solid recall command into their dog. I recommended that they keep these practice session short; 1 to 2 minutes in length. This is how other dogs communicate a bite was too much. He had been growling when they approached him with one and had started going under the couch to chew it. I pulled out a rawhide so that I could see how Skye reacted when I tried to take it away from him. Usually puppies at this age are simply growling as a reflex when anyone gets near them when they have what they consider a high-value object. Many people mistakenly think that resource guarding is a sign of aggression. It is not. I have worked with many dogs who are well-trained and very well behaved that still developed a resource guarding habit. I demonstrated how the guardians can practice holding onto an object that they allow Skye to chew on. This will give him the ability to maintain control of the object and mitigate skies resource guarding. The idea is to desensitize the dog to the touch or presence of humans around or near his mouth when he has what he considers to be a high-value item. I recommended that the guardians practice this exercise multiple times a day until they no longer receive a response from Skye. It will be important that they practice this activity several times a day for the next week. Resource guarding can be a scary thing to witness and can be dangerous once a dog matures. If the guardians are not seeing a difference in a week, I asked them to let me know so I can share some additional tips to eliminate this behavior. By the end of the session, Skye seemed to be mellowing out. He was no longer play-attacking or mouthing the families son in a playful way, and was easily redirected when someone came to the door. Many of these unwanted behaviors are things that he will grow out of or learn or unacceptable and puppy socialization class. Share this:. Goldendoodles are one of the dog breeds with the most excess energy. As smart, active dogs, goldendoodles require lots of exercise, mental stimulation and positive reinforcement. Continue reading to learn more about how to identify and calm down a hyper goldendoodle. They love nothing more than snuggling up with you after a long day and will always be over the moon to see you. However, doodles are naturally energetic dogs with boundless enthusiasm and zest for life. Your pet might whine and bark as a way of letting you know it needs attention and exercise. Add more exercise and playtime to its routine to prevent this from happening. As you can tell, the main reason for a hyper doodle is a mixture of natural temperament and lack of exercise. That said, all goldendoodle owners should expect the first three years to be jam-packed with playtime and high-energy behavior. Even after your doodle loses its puppy teeth at around six to eight months old, puppy-like behavior is likely to continue. Generally speaking, doodles are most hyper during the early stage of life, then become a little more docile at three years old and calm down a lot by the time they reach .Want a Calm Dog? Dogs are very sensitive animals and naturally match your energy levels to please you and fit into your environment. Stress, anxiety and anger are very distressing for dogs and might cause them to act out. Regularly getting into a frenzy of love and fuss can also be detrimental. If you get super-excited every time you come home and see your pet, you teach it that overexcitement is acceptable. Likewise, if you speak loudly and get very animated, you teach it that this behavior is normal. The answer is a resounding yes! However, proper training and a health-promoting daily routine are essential for bringing out the best in your pet. Below are the key components for evening out the energy levels of a hyper doodle. Early Training Methods Prevent Too Much Energy in a Goldendoodle Puppy Issues such as play biting, excessive licking, chewing, mouthing, tugging and wrestling are common among goldendoodle puppies. Regular Exercise For a goldendoodle, exercise is paramount. What constitutes enough exercise? For most doodles, daily exercise split into two walks around your local area or a dog park is ideal. Dog parks are great because they provide opportunities for socialization and training, which can help your dog learn how to maintain a calm demeanor. Keep in mind that the above timeframes are for outdoor walks — time in the backyard or indoors playing should be separate. Scent Training Scent training is one of the most effective ways to occupy a goldendoodle and keep it happy. Playing fetch offers physical stimulation, and providing toys offers mental stimulation, but nose work combines both. Reward your dog every time it finds a hidden treat. Increase the difficulty of the hiding places gradually over time. They help your dog relax, unwind and de-stress. Some ideas for toys include: Squeaky toys. Many Goldendoodles can be described as crazy. They are energetic and spirited, having an obvious love for life. They often bounce off the walls, trying to get anyone they can to play with them. They are rarely relaxed, and many owners wonder when they have time to sleep with all that playing. It is one of the reasons why people fall in love with them, given their fun-loving personalities. However, it can also be difficult to deal with at times. Goldendoodles have constant energy, making it nearly impossible to keep up with them. Like all Dog Breeds, Goldendoodles Vary in Energy Levels While it is common for Goldendoodles to be crazy, they do not all share the same spirited personality. Many Goldendoodles can actually be described as calm , which many doodle owners would be shocked about. These calm doodles are not hard to come by, as many are quite relaxed. However, unless you are adopting an older doodle, it is difficult to tell which ones are going to be hyper and which ones are going to be calm. In the book Goldendoodle, by Kathryn Lee , she mentions how it is difficult to decide which doodle puppies will be the relaxed ones. Many owners have difficulty taking care of puppies, as they are already high maintenance, so they do not want one overactive. She said that a Goldendoodle before the age of eight weeks would likely change in terms of temperament, so it is impractical to try and get the calmest puppy from the litter, as this calm puppy may become energetic with age. Goldendoodles are a mixture of both Golden Retrievers and Poodles. These breeds had to learn how to fetch and retrieve during hunting season. They were primarily used to retrieve waterfowl. The same can be said of a breed comprised of the two. Goldendoodles are often intelligent. They require mental stimulation to be happy. Establish a routine and good habits to help your dog feel secure and calm. Prevent unwanted behaviors through training and supervision instead of being reactive. Consistently reinforce good behavior to establish good habits to establish good habits. Scents: Introduce different scents around the house and yard and reward them for finding them to keep them entertained and curious. Use scent training to train them to identify and follow different scents as a fun game. Dog toys: Provide a variety of dog toys to keep them engaged and active. Dog training: Consistently train and reinforce good behavior to establish good habits. Consider hiring a professional dog trainer to teach them new tricks and commands. Dog park: Take them to the dog park to socialize and play with other dogs. Allow them to run around and get their zoomies out with some playtime. Kong: Fill a Kong toy with peanut butter or other treats to keep them busy. Coming home to ruined furniture, toys, shoes, and other valuables is never pleasant. Chewing is fun. It keeps their minds active and allows them to clean their teeth. You can help alleviate boredom—and save your furniture—by providing toys for your Goldendoodle to chew. That might be anything from a bone to an actual chew toy. Another sign that your Goldendoodle is bored is if they just lay around and do nothing. You may even hear a few huffs or puffs from them. These are dogs with nothing to do. Because Goldendoodles have a lot of energy, you need to give them opportunities to release their energy and stave off their boredom. A great way to keep them active and entertained is to take them for a walk. Even a few minutes outside can make a real difference for them. Regular walks can also make them excited. Finding your dog digging in the yard can cause you quite a headache. Like chewing, your dog will start digging holes to entertain themselves. Regular exercise can help keep them calm and from destroying your yard. Dogs tend to exhibit certain behaviors because they know they will get a response. This is why training can be difficult. If you only give your dog attention now and then, it can reinforce bad behavior. An example is barking. If your Goldendoodle wants your attention, then they might bark excessively. You respond to them, usually telling them to stop, and it gives them what they want. A negative behavioral trait is born. Any time the Goldendoodle wants your attention in the future, all they have to do is bark a lot. Once all other reasons have been eliminated, if your dog starts to bark excessively, you can ignore them. Another way your dog may beg for your attention is by laying on you. They might lay their head or their entire body on you. They want to be close to you, but they also want your attention. This can sometimes make your Goldendoodle appear quite silly or crazy. They may appear desperate to be near you. Giving your dog plenty of attention can make them appear less crazy in this manner, too. Most young dogs have a lot of energy. Goldendoodles have even more energy. The Golden Retriever and Poodle have a lot of energy because of their use in sports. They need enough energy to hunt waterfowl down, swim to it, and then take it back to their owners. Because of their high levels of energy, your Goldendoodle will also have a lot of energy. This stage of their life can last up to 18 months. There are a few things you can do to help release some of their energy to keep them from acting crazy. One of the first tips is to be mindful of rewarding energetic behavior. One common trait dogs possess is expressing excitement when you return home. Your natural instinct may be to coo at the dog or be as excited as they are. This rewards their zany behavior. That can lead to other problematic behaviors like pining, wetting the floor, and barking. A better option is to ignore them. When the overexcitement transitions into happy greetings, you can start greeting your dog in return. Another great method to keep your puppy in control is to tire them out. The best way to do this is by exercising them. You may want to try teaching them new games like fetch and nose games. Goldendoodles will likely naturally pick up how to play fetch. Their instincts have been honed to retrieve objects for centuries. Even something like a short walk can be enough to tire them out. Puppies need shorter walks than adult dogs, surprisingly. They may seem like they have more energy, but it really only comes in bursts. You can play games with them indoors. Some Goldendoodles will love playing Tug-of-War or chasing a soft ball through the hallways. By playing with your Goldendoodle, you can give them the attention they need and tire them out. For many owners, that age is around years old. If your Goldendoodle is still acting crazy beyond four years of age, then it may mean you have a very active dog on your hands. As long as you tire them out and keep them mentally stimulated, everyone should be happy. It might also mean that you reinforced bad behaviors. Training your dog or going through professional obedience training can help undo those behaviors. How to Relax a Goldendoodle Thankfully, there are ways to calm a Goldendoodle down. They can be relaxed, even if it may not seem possible at the moment. Below are the three most common ways of calming a doodle down: Exercise The first way to relax a crazy Goldendoodle is to increase the amount of exercise it receives. A Goldendoodle needs a minimum of two hours of exercise daily, however, they enjoy getting even more. A doodle needs more than just a daily morning walk. They need to be active throughout the duration of the day, getting ample amounts of movement. Depending on the age and temperament of your dog, you may need to take your doodle on multiple walks throughout the day. Stimulation The second way to relax a crazy Goldendoodle is to provide it with enough stimulation. Goldendoodles can get bored easily, due to their high intelligence and hyper personality. This means that they need stimulation often. Whether it be through socialization or purposeful playtime, your doodle will appreciate it. If your doodle starts to run out of new stimulants, you may notice that they get themselves into trouble or even become lethargic. This can be easily fixed, however, by working on a new trick or purchasing new toys. Training The third way to relax a crazy Goldendoodle is to train them. Training is pivotal for any dog, and the doodle is no exception. In order to combat their sometimes fanaticism, the owner needs to teach them appropriate behavior. This is most easily done through rewarding their good behavior. Their dog may be perfectly calm in the home. The second a stranger visits or they encounter another animal, however, the dog goes crazy. Socialized means that the dog was allowed to visit other people and dogs. They became used to meeting new people to the point that it no longer phases them. It should be noted that even socialized dogs may be a little excited when new people show up or a new dog crosses their path. The key difference is that a socialized dog will lose interest. To keep your dog calm, you need to socialize them early. Allow them to go to the park and hang around other dogs. Invite your friends and family over to the house. Even older dogs can be socialized if you continue to take them to the park. Socializing your dog can keep them from acting crazy. Closing Thoughts Goldendoodles may seem crazy, but they just have a lot of energy and zeal for life. You can calm them down by regularly exercising them, giving them lots of attention, and providing mentally-stimulating toys and chews. Many Goldendoodles can be described as crazy because of their high energy levels, but not all of them are hyperactive. To keep a Goldendoodle calm, you need to provide mental and physical stimulation to help alleviate boredom. Goldendoodles require regular exercise to release their energy. Chewing, digging in the yard, or excessive licking can indicate boredom. They may bark excessively or exhibit other behaviors to get attention. For example, if your dog jumps to get your attention, simply turn the other way and completely ignore your pup. Herding breeds such an Aussiedoodle or Sheepadoodle are very intelligent and trainable but can also present an extra discipline challenge simply because of their high drive and energy. Returning to the case of unwanted jumping, a more stubborn or even more zealous dog may continue jumping over and over again despite being ignored. In this case you may need to up the ante by moving your dog to a different room or otherwise physically separating yourself from him until he settles, and you can try again. It will also likely take more than one try! But be consistent. If you firmly separate your dog each and every time he jumps on you, even the most stubborn pup will learn that he can only be with you when he has all four paws on the ground! While we mentioned a few broad breed differences, each individual dog has their own personality so pay attention to his cues and body language more so than breed description. We always recommend starting with the most gentle form of correction. If you have tried a gentle verbal correction a few times and it seems to be having no effect, then it makes sense to move on to other stronger forms of discipline. Recent research has shown dogs live in the present moment and as such a quick, gentle correction in the moment will be significantly more effective than a harsher punishment after the fact. When it comes to house training, it is very important that you catch your dog right as he or she begins to squat in the house. Finding the accident even a minute later is too late for your pup to make the clear connection to the unwanted behavior. Yelling or screaming at your dog is unnecessary. As mentioned previously, some more sensitive dogs will respond to any type of negative verbal command. But if your doodle is a little more resistant, then a louder correction may be helpful. If your dog cowers, then the correction was too strong. Catching your dog in the moment is highly effective. Even better is anticipating his next move! Take counter-surfing as an example. Even if you catch your dog right as he jumps up, you may actually be a hair too late. If you have a doodle with a counter-surfing problem, carefully watching him for the moment right as he eyes the counter just before jumping is actually the prime time to correct him. Finally, it is important to not only correct, but also to redirect your doodle. Always remember that dogs act on instinct and simply do what comes naturally to them. Your dog may realize you are not fond of him jumping on you, but unless you give him another task to perform, he may not know what to do with his excited energy! The same is true when it comes to other unwanted behaviors such as play-biting, chewing and barking. For example if your dog is barking at a cat out the window—yelling at him will not do much good- he may not even hear you anyways. A better tactic would be to get in front of him, physically blocking his view of the cat or other stimulus as much as possible while attempting to redirect his attention to you. This ensures that he can be easily redirected even on walks or other extra-exciting situations. In conclusion, we recommend knowing your individual dog and starting with gentle, but consistent corrections. Some dogs respond well to simply ignoring negative behaviors and rewarding positive ones. Other dogs may need a firmer correction that grabs their attention. And finally, redirect your dog by giving him a positive behavior he can perform to replace the misbehavior. We hope these tips help get you off on the right track with your new pup! If you're looking to take in a pre-trained doodle , we offer 4-week, 8-week and week training programs.

Is your golden retriever struggling with some behavior problems? Welcome to the life of a golden retriever parent! Have you ever been around a baby late at night? There are also physical and mental stimulation needs. Golden retrievers were originally bred to retrieve gunned down birds for their owners. They had to work all day running through fields, streams, and marshes… It required a lot of energy to do all of that work, so being full of energy and desiring a job to do is in their genes! Can you see how your golden might be bored and looking for an outlet for all of their energy? So the question is, how do you mentally and physically exercise your golden? Here are seven ways to do that: 1. Give them puzzle toys My golden retriever, Oliver, has a ton of energy, so we give him a lot of puzzle toys. We give him frozen kongs often, which is where we take some of his food , soak it in water for ten minutes, stuff it in a kong , then freeze it. It takes him anywhere from minutes to get all of the food out and he absolutely loves them. Plus, they use up a ton of mental energy. We have a rubber ball that we put his food in and he has to roll it around to get his meals out. Teach them to love chew toys Dogs naturally love to chew and it releases feel-good endorphins. If your golden is anxious or has a lot of pent-up energy, getting them to go to town on a chew toy will do wonders for them. You can play tug or fetch, or especially if you have a mouthy puppy you can use a flirt pole to play with them. Take them on walks Taking your golden retriever on a walk will allow them to sniff, which will help with the mental stimulation, as well as get a little physical exercise. Usually, with Oliver, we go on walks and sprinkle in some training throughout. Train them Challenging your golden retriever by teaching them new things and making them earn treats and praise is a great way to burn off some of their mental energy. Plus, when you challenge them and they overcome those challenges, that will help build confidence and give them a sense of satisfaction both of which will help decrease bad behaviors. Check out this article to learn how to train your golden retriever. Set up doggy play dates Most goldens love playing with other dogs, so if you have a friend who has a dog, or you meet some people in an online dog group, that could be a great way for them to get some exercise. We recently attended a local golden retriever meetup and Oliver absolutely loved playing with all of the other goldens. Take your golden to daycare A few times a month, Oliver goes to doggy daycare and he has a blast. Whenever we pull up to the building he realizes where we are and he gets so excited. One of the workers there even told me he has a girlfriend! Remove The Temptation One day, seemingly out of the blue, Oliver developed the bad habit of digging into the trash can in the office. He would grab Post-it notes, tissues, crumpled up paper, anything… Then he would run around the house and try to get us to chase him to get it back. Eventually, we got fed up with it, so we moved the trash can on top of the desk for a few weeks. He got out of the habit, and now we can use the trash can in peace again. Are there any temptations for your dog that you can remove, either temporarily or permanently? Can you put your shoes in the closet so your dog will stop chewing them? Can you not give them a certain toy that they become aggressive or possessive over? If your puppy is biting you, leave the room. This is called redirection. You give them pets and tell them how much you love them. They pull on the leash and you let them go up to the smelly smell, which makes them happy because they get to check it out. Are you accidentally rewarding and positively reinforcing this bad behavior? If you are, that could be adding to your problem. You have to kindly and patiently teach them what you want them to do. Puppies also love to have fun. Be sure to not give in to their games and accidentally reinforce bad behavior like stealing socks. Another thing is puppy biting. You can learn more about the golden retriever puppy timeline here. Common Golden Retriever Behavior Problems Here are several common golden retriever behavior problems: jumping on people. Possible reasons why your Golden Retriever is naughty Each of the different reasons why it is disobedient will likely come with some clues. Below are a number of possible causes of why it is badly behaved and what would make them more likely. Exercise Golden Retrievers are a breed that is meant to get a lot of exercise daily. When they do not get much exercise it can cause them to develop behaviorial issues and it could be why yours has been misbehaving. Generally, it is recommended for them to get at least an hour of exercise daily. If your Golden Retriever has not been getting that much exercise it would help to make sure that it does. Training If you have not given your Golden Retriever much training then it will not know how it is meant to behave and it will behave the way it feels like behaving. The way it feels like behaving is unlikely to be the way you would like it to behave. This is why it is important to give it training more will be discussed on this below. Attention The reason why it is being naughty could be that it is looking for attention. Fear The cause could be that something has been causing it to be fearful. This would be more likely if it starts being naughty at specific times where it might be fearful such as when there are fireworks outside. Location If you can get your Golden Retriever to listen to you in one location but not in another then it would not be an unusual occurrence. The different distractions that it has in the new location can be too much for it to remember what you trained it to do before. Your best option here would be to train it again in the new environment as you did in the old environment. If you tend to give it things such as extra attention, toys or treats when it starts misbehaving then it might have learned to do it more in order to get more rewards. Instead, it would help to avoid rewarding it when it does it, to wait for it to calm down before rewarding it, to redirect its focus when it seems like it is about to be naughty and to use positive reinforcement training to change its behavior. Separation anxiety It could also be the case that it has been doing it due to having separation anxiety which is where it does not like being left alone and being left alone causes it to become anxious. Separation anxiety would be more likely to be the reason if it is naughty when you are gone and if it starts to become anxious when you are leaving. In this case, you could try to reduce how anxious it becomes without you by doing something such as: Make it seem like you are about to leave by doing something such as picking up your keys Reward your Golden Retriever for not being anxious and repeat these two steps a few times Make more moves towards actually leaving such as by picking up the keys and putting your hand on the door handle Reward your Golden Retriever for not being anxious and repeat the process a few times Actually open the door and go outside for a few moments then come back and reward your Golden Retriever Repeat the above, each time staying outside for slightly longer You can see more tips on how to do this in the video below: How to get your Golden Retriever to stop being naughty Below are some options you have when getting it to be better behaved. Train it If you have not given your Golden Retriever much training it would be important to start training it so that it learns how it should behave. It would help to start by teaching it the basics such as to sit and stay and then to build up to more challenging things after. If your Golden Retriever is being naughty then it will likely be trying to destroy things. You can watch the video below to see how. Exercise As mentioned above, it is important to make sure that it is able to get exercise on a daily basis. Generally, it is recommended for Golden Retrievers to get at least an hour of exercise daily. Reduce its ability to be naughty You can also take measures to reduce how naughty it is able to be. Crate training Another option would be to give it crate training which is meant to give it an area where it can go in order to feel safer. You can watch the video below to see how to train it to become comfortable in its crate. Get help If you are unable to get it to stop being naughty or it is being aggressive then it would help to seek the guidance of a professional dog trainer or behaviorist in your area. By doing so, you should be able to see how to get it to stop being naughty in a secure manner. Things to consider Be patient It is important to be patient when you are training your Golden Retriever. It is unlikely that you will be able to get big results after just training it once or twice. But, if you are consistent with the training, you will be able to get much better results over the course of weeks. Avoid punishing it It would also help to avoid punishing it when it misbehaves since it might not know why it is being punished, it could become aggressive in response and it could cause it to become resentful. Instead, it would help to give it lots of positive reinforcement training so that you can train it by reinforcing good behaviors. When it first started doing it When trying to figure why your Golden Retriever has been being naughty, it would help to consider what else happened when it first started doing it since it could be the case that there was an event that caused it to start. If it started doing it suddenly it would be more likely to be due to things such as a change in its diet, becoming fearful, learning that it gets rewards or a sudden change in its daily routine. When it misbehaves more It would also help to consider whether or not it misbehaves more at certain times since it could be the case that the timing has something to do with it. For example, if it becomes naughty when you are away or when you are leaving it would make it more likely to be due to separation anxiety.
Design: Liked the theme and the toys were definitely durable. Health: Treats were made in the U. I mean, I love celebrating Halloween early as much as the next person, but in March? Mostly I was just weirded out by feeling like I'd been sent a Halloween box in March? Happy early Halloween, y'all! But in addition to that, everything in the box felt extremely high quality. Design: Both dog toys here felt very high-end and durable. Neither one was hideous, and I liked that there was a subtle St. I also loved that the rope toy is created through Fundacion Mitz which gives jobs to women in vulnerable communities. Health: I appreciated that the Loving Pets treats were made in the U. Customer Experience: I canceled my subscription via email, and it was easy. The customer service representative was pleasant and I liked that I got an email warning me that my subscription was renewing before I was out of the cancellation window. Summary: I was skeptical of this box going in because subscribing on the Greater Good site felt a little jenky, but I was actually really wow-ed by the quality of the items in the box and the value. I loved the products, and loved even more knowing that my purchase was feeding shelter animals. And our pick for the best Dog subscription box is… Okay, I lied. I love that it gives back, and everything in it felt really high-quality and thoughtfully-curated. I loved seeing a Fair Trade toy in the box, too. It felt good to buy an indulgent treat for our pups that also helped pups in need. Thanks for reading! You start with a basic cardboard box and then fill it with dog toys and random stuff lying around your home particularly things you can hide treats in! Before we take a closer look at busy box stuffing ideas, I want to say a big thank you to my friend Tori, founder of WearWagRepeat. We recently did an Instagram Live together where she introduced me to this genius idea. You can use an old soda can box, LaCroix box, cereal box, etc. It can be a squeaky toy or a crinkle toy. Balls — If your dog loves tennis balls or Hol-ee balls then add that to the box too! Treat-Filled Towel — Grab a clean washcloth or dish towel and roll treats inside. Loose Treats — To sprinkle in the box! Stuff the box with goodies. Use the list of ideas I mentioned above and get creative with your own! Sprinkle a few loose treats into the box. Proven red miniature Labradoodle F2B 3rd generation stud. A very intelligent boy with a fantastic trainable, eager to please temperament. He would make an amazing agility dog. He's only 21 inches at the shoulder. He is a very friendly and a full of beans dog. He came 3rd in the best back cross class at doodlefest in a very large class. We have chosen to breed Coco with a miniature to ensure the puppies are a bit smaller. Coco is a family pet and lives with 4 children and her sister Poppy. Coco will be here when you come to view the puppies. This will help you to see how the puppies fur and colour will develop. Puppies will be wormed, vet checked, microchipped and will come with insurance but they will not have any vaccinations. The reason for this is if your vet uses a different vaccination for the second jab compared to the first one then the whole cycle needs repeating. This can delay the vaccination process and delay vital socialisation. Photos show Coco and her sister Poppy as puppies and Coco now with her puppies, the photos of the dad Humphrey are as a pup and now cream. Coco's puppies are also included, viewing will be from the 1st June onwards. Contact Debbie to book your viewing. You will need to consider the size of your property and the financial and time implications of having a dog as a pet and its exercise needs. Caring for a dog can be expensive and you should consider whether, for instance, you would be able to afford the cost of routine and unexpected veterinary treatment, or the cost of pet health insurance.
