They will often suffer from separation anxiety if left alone, as they are social dogs who love regular interaction. They love to be in packs and are playful and full of energy with other dogs. Provided that they grow up with other dogs and cats around and are socialized from an early age, they are unlikely to hunt or display any aggression toward other animals. They will need a large amount of food to maintain a healthy and balanced diet, but they are prone to overeating and will need to be carefully monitored to prevent getting overweight. Depending on the type of food they are getting, a good gauge of daily requirements is at least 4 large cups of high-quality dry dog pellets per day. Like all dogs, Great Danoodles need constant access to fresh, clean water. An easy way to get adequate hydration for your dog is to add high-quality wet food into their diet. Unless you intend to breed, neutering a male dog has many associated health benefits , including preventing testicular cancer, reducing aggression, and stopping them from wandering. Should a Great Dane Mix take after their Dane parent, they will grow to be a huge, lovable dog that is gentle, affectionate, and playful. Does the information on their website come up on other sites when you search it? Are there paragraphs lifted from Wikipedia? Lazy plagiarism of other, more reputable, breeder websites is a scuzzy tactic used by scammers. How old is your puppy? If your puppy is under 6 weeks, though ideally 8 weeks, your breeder is not legitimate. This is the time when it is nursed, cared for, and taught social interaction by its mom and littermates. A puppy taken away too early may have health and behavioral issues. What is the refund policy? If you are met with a final sales only ultimatum, your breeder is not legitimate. A proper breeder will want you to be a great match with your dog and be willing to take the dog back if there are issues. A breeder that wants to dump a dog and run will often not have a refund policy. Do they have a permit? In some areas, selling dogs will require a permit. It is important that you ask to see it if your city is one that issues them. It goes without saying that a seller without a permit is breaking the law, and probably trying to scam you or unload accidental puppies. Watch out! Did you every buy a puppy from a breeder? We will only breed dogs that pass all of these tests, so we can continue reaching to improve the breed through imposing high standards for our dogs. We breed dogs from these lines to continue a heritage of excellence in the breed. This standard is different from the AKC standard for golden retrievers, but both are accepted and licensed. The English type should have a blockier and fuller head, shorter muzzle, lower ear set, rounder eyes, stouter body structure, as well as a lighter color than the American type see comparison figure below. As an adult, it has been a pleasure to now show and selectively breed these beautiful English Golden Retrievers. Raising our English Golden Retrievers is a family endeavor that includes everyone from the youngest to the oldest. It is wonderful to make family memories with our dogs and children together. We can deliver our puppies to you if you are out of state, and personally travel with the puppy to bring your puppy to you.
