Welcome to Yare Valley Labradoodles Our love for our labradoodles is so great we decided to create this website to share them with as many people as possible. We live in a small Broadland village in South Norfolk, where our dogs are able to take full advantage of long country walks as well as the Norfolk Broads. Our first labradoodle came to live with us nearly 16 years ago and completely stole our hearts. Australian labradoodles are labrador retriever crossed with a poodle with the addition of other permitted breeds through the generations, including the soft coated Irish wheaten terrier, Portuguese water dog and the cocker spaniel. These infusions have resulted in dogs who are consistent in size, coat type and temperament. None of our pups are spayed or neutered before leaving for their new homes. This practice is only carried out by commercial breeders. I am not against spaying and neutering, at an appropriate age, but carrying this out before the dogs have reached maturity is not in their best interest. I also feel it is essential for family pets to be born and raised in a family home, as opposed to commercial kennels. We would never use distance selling or couriers as we view homing our puppies as a two way process that has to be right for both families. We therefore always meet potential puppy families and have them visit our home to meet our dogs. Once we offer you a puppy we ask for a 10 per cent deposit with the balance payable prior to collecting your puppy. Our puppies are only sold as family pets, as are the pups from matings with Waffle. Therefore no puppy shall be used for breeding, without our prior written consent. Curtabemdoodles is a family-run breeding service that breeds Goldendoodles, Ultimate Doodles Bernedoodles, and Mountain Doodles. The Goldendoodle puppies stay together on the field. They pride themselves in breeding healthy, high-quality, happy, well-cared-for dogs. From the moment they are born, Curtabem puppies are showered with the best. Whether it is time or money, no expense is spared in making sure their pups are healthy and happy. Curtabem dogs and puppies are crate-trained , potty-trained, and generally well-behaved all around. Curtabemdoodles offer an imprinting course during which the dogs are trained by a professional trainer. The imprinting program may last 4, 8, or 12 weeks, depending on the request of the new dog owner. During this time, the pup lives in a home setting with the trainer who teaches them basic commands, manners, and self-control. The imprinting program helps new owners through the toughest part of living with and adjusting to life with a new Goldendoodle pup. Fees for feeding, boarding, and routine treatments during the imprinting program are covered by the new dog owner. Puppies have to be a minimum of 8 weeks old before they are considered ready to leave for their new homes. At this age, Curtabemdoodles ensure they are well-cared for, vaccinated, flea treated, microchipped, and fully vet checked. When you pick up your new Goldendoodle, Curtabem gives you a puppy pack containing detailed advice on caring for your new pup, a scented blanket, and an invite to a closed Facebook group of other Curtabem puppy parents. Curtabemdoodles take their puppies through an enrichment program that begins as early as when they are just 3 days old. These sessions help the brain development of the puppies and equip them to deal with stressful situations. It also has a myriad of health benefits for the dogs such as stronger heart rates, lower blood pressure, and higher disease resistance. Your puppy will need its next round of shots at 12 and 16 weeks. Your Puppy Food and Supplies: You will want to be prepared with the food the puppies are eating now. A sudden change of food will cause digestive problems at this age. Because your puppy's digestive system is sensitive, we do not recommend giving your puppy any treats until 6 months old. Use the puppy's food as a treat when training. We will supply you with a small bag of the puppy's food on the take home day. We highly recommend keeping your Labrador Retriever puppy on the Large Breed Puppy Purina puppy food until 2 years of age. And then at 2 years switch to Large Breed Purina dog food. Probiotics: We recommend giving your puppy probiotics for the first two weeks to help with the changing environments. Even with preventative care, expect your puppy to have a loose stool every so often because they explore the world through their mouths and therefore ingest things that affect their immature digestive system. Giardia, Coccydia, and roundworms are all common parasites that puppies get and are effectively treated with dewormers. Dog Crate: We are starting your puppy's crate training, so if you plan to continue using a crate, you will want to purchase this item beforehand. Make sure your puppy does not have access to electrical cords, they love to chew on them. No matter which of the three coat types your Labradoodle has, they can grow long hair! Generally, those with the hair coat are the most likely to have short fur, but even they can have potentially long coats. The reason you see so many Labradoodles with short hair is simply because owners trim the coats to make grooming easier. Poodle coats grow continuously throughout their lives. So, many Poodles require regular trims. Most Labradors do not share this trait. Labradors tend to have short, dense coats that shed heavily, but do not grow excessively long. However, long haired Labradors exist! Mixing a Poodle with a long haired Labrador will increase your chances of getting puppies with long fur. A long haired fleece Doodle will likely need to be brushed at least once a day. They will also likely need more in-depth grooming sessions every couple of weeks, if not more frequently. Grooming a Long Haired Wool Labradoodle Wool Labradoodle coats are the most time consuming to groom, and require grooming the most often. The fur is very tightly curled, and is therefore very prone to tangles and knots. If left alone, these will matte and become very painful for your dog, tugging on their skin. Wool coat Labradoodles with long hair will need to be brushed multiple times a day — at least once in the morning and once at night, to eliminate any knots before they start hurting your dog. More in-depth grooming sessions will likely be required once a week. Long haired Labradoodles will need more grooming than short haired versions because their long fur is more likely to tangle. Tangles and knots in your Labradoodles coat can be really uncomfortable and painful for your dog. Short haired Labradoodles are simply easier to care for. And, longer fur can be problematic for Labradoodles playing or exercising outdoors, as things are more likely to get caught and stuck in their fur. Are Long Haired Labradoodles Hypoallergenic? No dog breed is truly hypoallergenic. This is because allergens that cause allergy symptoms can be found in dander and saliva. So, wool coats are often the most popular with allergy sufferers. And, long haired Labradoodles require more grooming than short haired versions. Hair coat Labradoodles may inherit the short fur of the Labrador. Long fur is more common for fleece and wool types. All Labradoodle puppies are born with a similar single layered puppy coat. This sheds in time to reveal their adult coat.
