Black and Silver Much like the black and tan GSD, a black and silver German Shepherd usually has a silver saddle across its back, although the pattern and hue both vary from dog to dog. Like the silver GSD, the black and silver coloration occurs only when the recessive intensity suppression gene is present. This color is not common in the AKC show ring and can mostly be found in working dog lines. Because these dogs are not visible in the dark, it is highly advisable to only walk them on a light-up dog collar in the evenings and at night. Bicolor Bicolor German Shepherds appear almost completely black and, to fit the breed standard, must have black heads, back, legs and tail. Even if their paws are brown, the heels need to be black by the color standard definition. However, the AKC accepts bicolor as a recessive color in the breed. Though technically allowed in the show ring, these dogs are mostly found in working lines. Black and Cream The last official color on our list, the black and cream GSD remains true to its origins as a lighter version of the common red and tan coloring. There is some controversy surrounding the black and cream variation. Most AKC breeders do not want them to participate in the show ring. They strive to breed darker dogs that do not show the light cream coloring. The color does little to change their character, however, and black and cream GSDs excel obedience, nosework, rally and agility and are as loyal and brave as their black and tan cousins. Her DNA proved them wrong, although the Panda coloration remains unrecognized by some kennel clubs and breeders. The Panda GDS is created by a rare genetic mutation. The genes responsible for an all-white body and the patchy white are two different ones. This does not stop them from being popular however! There is a large demand for Panda-colored German Shepherds. Unfortunately, this inflates the price and leads breeders to focus on the color mutation rather than genetic health, so be sure to only source a puppy from a reputable breeder. Albino An albino German Shepherd is incredibly rare. An albino of any species or breed lacks any pigmentation, including of the skin, hair, and eyes as well as the blood vessels, resulting in a pinkish tinge. You can distinguish an albino German Shepherd from a white one by checking his eyes and nose. A White GDS will have some pigmentation resulting in brown eyes, whereas albinos always have red or pink eyes. An Albino GSD, should one exist, may experience other health problems associated with the condition. They may, for example, be photosensitive, requiring protection from direct sunlight. What is the Rarest Color of the German Shepherd? The rarest color of German Shepherd is the isabella due to the recessive combination of liver and blue. You will have to search for a long time to get such a puppy — and his price will likely be high as well! What is the Best Color for a German Shepherd? The best color for a German Shepherd in the show ring is black and tan, followed by sable. If you are not planning on showing your dog through the AKC, you can pick any color you like. Poodles, whether standard, miniature or moyen are wonderful dogs and contribute so much to the desirable characteristics of all doodles. Their natures are bright, sweet, silly and very loving toward the whole family. Today they are making a comeback with better breeding practices and genetic screening, and boy are they wonderful dogs! Irish Setters train well, love people and positively live for their time outside. Its wonderful to watch an Irish Setter out in the fields or along a river as their breed traits are displayed. They crouch, point and dash around joyfully disturbing the birds in the bushes. Setters like Poodles are a soft-mouthed breed, which means that while they were bred for hunting, it was for retrieving only and not to damage what they retrieve. This gentleness is why they make such loving dogs that are suitable for families. Irish Setters are standard sized dogs. At full grown they will weigh lbs and stand 21 inches high or taller at the shoulder. They are a low shedding breed which makes them an ideal to incorporate into the world of Doodles. They were bred as far back as the 17th and 18th century in Ireland from Gordon and Llewelyn Setters. While they were bred for hunting, it was for retrieving only and not to damage what they retrieve. This makes them a soft-mouthed breed and their gentleness is why they make such loving dogs that are suitable for families. Ethical breeding practices and genetic screening, are enabling breeders to create Golden Retrievers with improved health and wellness. The challenge with the Golden Retriever is that they do shed a whole lot, which can be a deterrent for dog loving allergy sufferers. Golden Retrievers are a sturdy and muscular, standard sized dog growing between lbs on average and stand between inches high at the shoulder. They can vary in colour from the light white of the English Cream variety, to the deep red of the field hunters. Still used to this day for hunting and retrieving, their gentle characters and sweet nature make their looks and breed traits a welcome addition to the world of Doodles. This means that our premises, facilities, paperwork, and dogs have been thoroughly inspected by a licensing officer as well as their appointed veterinarian. On completion of their inspection we have been awarded the higher standard. Our priority has always been to breed for both temperament and health as a priority. All our adult dogs have undergone the relevant health tests for their breed and copies of these can be viewed by all prospective puppy owners. Both Marie and Mark are currently studying to OFQUAL Level 3 in Canine Care and Development, this, with over 18 years of experience in breeding dogs means we can assist new owners in all aspects relating to puppy purchase and their on-going care. At home, our dogs have 13 acres to run around on and also enjoy swimming in the lake. We have a secure puppy run which our puppies use once they are old enough to spend some supervised time outdoors. F1b puppies are puppies born from a mating between a pedigree parent miniature or standard KC registered poodle and an F1 Irish Doodle or Golden Doodle. All our puppies are raised in our family home. They are used to children of varying ages and all the usual household noises you would expect in a bustling home. Our puppies can be viewed with mum from 5 weeks of age and we welcome all members of the family. Puppies will leave us for their new homes from 8 weeks of age. Puppies leave us with a contract, puppy information pack, weeks supply of dry food, a toy, and a scent blanket. All our puppies will have received their first vaccination and been micro-chipped. They will have had their nails clipped and will have been wormed at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks of age. They will be vet checked by our vet and will leave us with a copy of the vets health report. We started this venture with a mini Poodle instead of a toy Poodle as we felt that was the best step in downsizing to achieve the mini Goldendoodle dog breed.
