names for a female german shepherd puppy
Not too far from the beaches, we spend most of the year playing in the sand or swimming in our pool. In , we gave our 5 year old little girl a puppy for Christmas. She instantly fell in love with the little girl puppy, and wasted no time picking out a name for the pure white, English Cream Golden Retriever. So when we imported a boy puppy the following year, we all decided to stick with the snow theme for a name. Snow Ball was now officially part of the family. With Snow Flake and Snow Ball being the best of friends, we knew it wouldn't be long before the Snow Pups would arrive. Happy, Healthy Bloodline We take great pride in knowing that we offer some of the healthiest and best pedigreed golden retrievers in the state of Florida. Our sire was imported from one of the top kennels in Europe. Big, blocky, and white as snow, he is truly a once in a lifetime dog. With a pedigree full of world champions, and a slate full of health clearances, Clumbret Lucky One, aka Snow Ball, represents the breed standard perfectly. Plus, he's super sweet and is best friends with a mini pig! We are very proud of the health clearances and genetic testing that our dogs have undergone. And we are pleased to provide any hard copies of any testing done upon request. All of our puppies come with an AKC registration number, health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, dewormed, and first round of vaccinations. Also, each of our puppies has a 1 year guarantee against any congenital defect. A Furever Friend As the years have gone by, we have continued to add to our breeding program, while continuing to maintain our high level of excellence. Each of our new additions are also imported from the top European kennels. We even have an Italian girl that can only speak her native tongue! More than being breeders, we are ultimately dog lovers. We love all of our dogs, puppies or not, and are quite proud of our crazy little dog family that we lovingly call, "The Gaggle. The goal of this cross-breed is to get a dog with the laid-back, comedic personality of the Pug and the Beagle, but with the longer Beagle snout to reduce respiratory problems. A cross-breed can take on any combination of traits from one or both of the parents. But, overall, a Puggle tends to be a loving, friendly dog with a playful personality. Although the Puggle is not recognized by the American Kennel Club, they are recognized by other notable dog organizations like the American Canine Hybrid Club. The Puggle tends to be a cuddler that loves their family. They tend to get along with just about everyone including children, other dogs, and strangers. In this case, extra training, socialization, and introduction may be necessary for your Puggle to recognize smaller other pets as family and not something to chase. They can be prone to howling if they take after their Beagle parent. They can also be prone to barking, which makes them good watchdogs. But, they are social and more interested in making friends, so they do not make good guard dogs. Training early on can help curb incessant barking and howling to keep it as an alert instead of a nuisance. The Puggle is a highly adaptable dog breed. They do well in both apartments and larger homes as long as they get enough exercise, mental stimulation, and affection. If they inherit the urge to wander common to the Beagle, they should only be let off-leash in securely fenced areas. Puggles do well in moderate climates. As with any dog breed, they are sensitive to heat. They also do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. With a cross-breed, they can inherit the potential health concerns from one, both, or neither of the parent breeds. For the Puggle, these potential health concerns include stenotic nares, which are also called pinched nostrils, hip dysplasia, patellar luxation, epilepsy, hypothyroidism , and cherry eye. If your Puggle has the shorter snout of the Pug, they may also have the same respiratory issues that affect all brachycephalic dogs. You can also ask to see any relevant health clearances or test results. Although the Puggle tends to be eager to please and easy to train, they can sometimes be stubborn. These intelligent dogs pick up on things quickly and respond well to training, which makes them a good fit for owners of all experience levels. However, if they inherit a stubborn streak, it can be an obstacle during training. Plus, these classes offer some great opportunities to socialize a puppy. The Puggle has a double coat that is short and smooth. They will shed moderately year-round with heavier shedding sessions twice a year. Bathing is occasional and on an as-needed basis. They should not be showing redness or have any discharge. Check their face wrinkles regularly to make sure they are clean, dry, and free of debris. Also, make sure to dry between them thoroughly after a bath to help prevent skin irritation. The Puggle has a moderate activity level. Daily walks plus some playtime or extra activity is usually enough to keep this dog happy and healthy. They enjoy spending time with you, so they may be up for more activity if you are. Your Puggle may enjoy trips to the dog park, playing frisbee, or even training for dogs sports like agility. A fully-grown Puggle usually stands inches tall at the shoulder and weighs pounds. A Puggle generally lives years. The first registered Puggle harkens back to a Wisconsin breeder in the s. Puggle Puppies for Sale Thanks for visiting our Puggle page! Here are my tips for introducing your French bulldog to a new puppy. It has something to do with their scent — puppies have a different smell than adult pups. He stopped drooling around her after a couple days. Apart from that, have your dog meet your new puppy for the time first time in an open location, like a large park If possible, let them reach the meeting location at the same time and keep the leashes loose or even off-leash. Sometimes on-leash, dogs can become more agitated and aggressive. Let them eat individually with their own dishes. Let your first pet go straight into the house while your new pup runs around the yard. This is because at night, dogs have a harder time seeing one another, which can put them on edge. And at mealtimes, many pups can get territorial. That includes feeding dishes, toys, beddings and other shared items. Additionally, clean up their common area and let the existing pet have an idea that another pet is set to arrive. Weston went in there occasionally to roll around in the bed and mark it with his scent. Whenever we left the house, we had Fira stay inside her playpen which was her safe place. Play with them, train them together and always give lots and lots of love to the older pet. He will also make his own rules with the new sibling, so allow him to create his own boundaries and teach the younger one his rules, how to play and more. Fira never did it again. Interactions between your Frenchie and your new puppy should not be forced. Weston did such a great job teaching Fira how to play and wrestle. Where To Adopt A Golden Retriever In Colorado — Best Rescues Updated: June 30th, So, you have your heart set on a golden retriever, but you have decided to adopt from a rescue to help a dog in great need of its forever home. Below, you will find details about the three best golden retriever rescues in the Colorado area. Read on to learn more so you can find the perfect golden retriever in need of a loving home! Keep in mind you will also find golden retrievers in rescues that work with all dog breeds, but it is often a good idea to adopt from a breed-specific rescue. Different breeds have different needs in terms of their potential health issues and temperaments. By focusing on a single breed, the rescue is able to provide more specialized care and support for their dogs. Founded in by Laura Terroux, the organization rescues and rehabilitates dogs that have been abandoned or surrendered and seeks out appropriate forever homes for them. They rehome around dogs each year. While some dogs stick around long enough to have a profile on their website, most of their dogs tend to be adopted quickly. This is why it is best to contact them and put in an application so they can promptly contact you when a suitable dog becomes available. Most dogs are kept in foster homes in the Denver area and can be visited by appointment. They do not place dogs out of state. Additionally, their puppies are all spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They started out with no budget and the ambition to save just 30 dogs a year. Today, they save more than dogs annually. RROC is located in the Evergreen area, and you can see some of the dogs available to adopt on their website, but you may have more luck if you contact the agency with your interest. This way, they can let you know when a likely pup becomes available. You will need to complete an online adoption form, and when a dog becomes available, you will then be invited for a phone interview to see if you are an appropriate match. Before finalizing the match, a RROC volunteer will also make a home visit to make sure you have an appropriate forever home for the dog. Fees include spaying or neutering, microchipping, and all age-appropriate vaccinations. To adopt, complete an online application form to help GRFR determine what kind of dog would be best for you. Once an appropriate pup becomes available, you can expect a phone interview and home visit before the adoption is finalized. Here is what to expect from the adoption process. Prepare To Be Disappointed. While there are many dogs out there in need of homes, you should be prepared for disappointment. Puppies and attractive dogs like goldens are popular and get snatched up quickly. Usually, by the time you see a dog on a website, the rescue is already in the process of rehoming them with another family. So, while it is a good idea to browse sites and get in touch quickly when you find a dog that you connect with, you should register your interest with local golden retriever rescues. This way, they will contact you when an appropriate dog comes into their care and you can be at the top of the list. Most shelters will keep your adoption application on file for 3 to 6 months. Rescues know how hard it is for dogs to thrive when they are in homes that are inappropriate for them. For this reason, you should be prepared to answer quite a few questions about yourself as part of the application process. They will want to know about your experience with dogs and your living situation. For example, they will probably ask about the size of your home, whether there is outdoor space for the dog to use, how many hours of the day the house is empty with everyone at school and work, if there are children and other animals in the home, and whether you have an active lifestyle. Goldens need lots of exercise, so do best with owners who are already quite active. There may also be a few financial questions to ensure that you have the resources to provide the appropriate care for a golden retriever. Some of these questions will come up on the initial application, while others are commonly addressed in a phone interview. Many shelters will also want to organize a home visit to see your home and make sure that it is as you described and that it will be appropriate for the dog. Some people are surprised that they need to pay to adopt a dog. The fee you will be asked to pay helps to cover the costs of the rescue, both in general and for your dog specifically. You can expect your dog to have undergone medical checks, to be chipped, and to have received all relevant vaccinations. The fee can also be a measure of your seriousness. Families that are willing to make a financial commitment tend to look after their dogs for longer. Good shelters will follow up with you to make sure you and your pup are getting on well, and they can offer you support and advice if you have any questions about the health or care of your new dog. Once you have been matched with a dog, you should expect the adoption process to take between two weeks and one month to finalize. How long do golden retrievers live? Golden retrievers have a life expectancy of roughly 10 to 12 years. How much does it cost to adopt a golden retriever in Colorado? Is it hard to adopt a golden retriever puppy? Golden retrievers are very desirable dogs, so puppies in rescues get adopted quickly. However, because the demand is so high, there is also a steady supply of goldens available from breeders all over the US. Optimize your chances by registering with various rescues and being proactive about staying in touch. The Verdict If you are in the Colorado area and you are keen to adopt a golden retriever, there are a handful of great Retriever rescues in the area that may be able to match you up with the perfect pup. Golden retrievers are popular dogs, so expect there to be quite a bit of competition for dogs. Remember, the rescue will want to know quite a bit about you to make sure you are a good match for the dogs in their care and that you will be able to look after them in the long term. The last thing they want is to see their pups returning to the rescue. Have you worked with any of the rescues in the Colorado area? Good Gracious Goldens was created in when I decided to follow in my mothers footsteps as she has been raising them for over 3o years. Recently we welcomed our 3rd child and decided it was time to split the work without compromising the experience for our adopting families. Now we are working along side Lone Oak Goldens, my dear friend Lori. This decision is not one we took lightly as our reputation is very important to us but I knew her care and expertise would only make us better! I could not imagine a more wonderful partner. She raises them in her home in NE and brings them to my home when they are ready as most of our adopting families are in Colorado including many repeat families! Now I can put all my focus in the communication I pride myself on quick replies , while Lori is loving on the puppies and socializing them getting them ready to meet you! And trust me when you see these puppies you'll see just how much love was poured into them!! I like to say us working together for you, is the truly best of both worlds! We love the English Cream and American Golden breed. We couldn't imagine a better way of life! Of course watching them grow up and thrive is amazing, but I would say my favorite part is seeing the families faces when they see their new family member. Thank you for taking the time to read about us! Our Philosophy! We believe dogs and puppies should be unconditionally loved and cared for as they truly become part of your family. When choosing the right puppy for your family, there are many choices out there. Some puppies are raised in undesirable conditions, this is incredibly heart breaking. Which is why we raise our Golden Retrievers with absolutely no kennels. We believe this makes us different from other breeders. As we are continually trying to improve our breeding program. Our reason for raising English Creme Golden Retrievers is because of our love for the breed and the joy our dogs have brought to our lives. We desire an extraordinary puppy for your family too. When you pick us, we have to pick you too, as we too are selective when choosing forever homes for our pups. Within the first 8 weeks of their lives we spend a lot of time helping them develop social skills and simply loving on them. We get to know each one of the puppies and are fully committed to helping you choose the puppy that is best for you and your family based on gender, temperament and color. We recently joined our breeding program with Lone Oak Goldens. Two families raising puppies together equals double the love! We want to thank you for taking the time to let us introduce you to our family dogs "Grace", "London","Ellie", "Viva", "Margo", "Cooper" and "Hudson" along with their sweet puppies! We look forward to meeting you soon! Sincerely, Libby and Lori. The sad truth is that many pet store purchased pups actually come from puppy mills. Basically, there is zero authenticity with pet stores. You also cultivate a life-long relationship with the breeder, meaning support is available to you anytime you may need it. With My Golden Retriever Puppies , you have the option to come and visit both the puppy and the breeder in person! Golden Retrievers are an adaptable breed, meaning they are better at adapting to seasonal changes and various types of climate than certain other breeds. Your pup deserves better than that, which is why here at My Golden Retriever Puppies , we ensure high-quality care is taken of your pet at all times. For more about the true price of a golden retriever puppy, you can read our full price breakdown here. Location Information for Colorado Customers Our home office is located in Ohio, but we understand that long-distance travel can be inconvenient. If you prefer to meet a breeder in person, they may be able to offer private visits at their home. Of course! Here at My Golden Retriever Puppies , we value family and authenticity, which is why we always guarantee our pups through our 2-year genetic health guarantee. Like adopting a Golden Retriever from a pet store, there is an increased risk when adopting a pup from a rescue center or shelter as well. For example, pups purchased through a shelter or rescue center are far less likely to come with the kinds of health guarantees and reassurances that a breeder can provide. I had torn ACLs in both my back legs and needed two surgeries, one after another. My foster dad took such great care of me, keeping me quiet and letting me heal, while also doing all the exercises needed so that I had the absolute best recovery I could get. I recently went home with my forever family. They tell me every day just how lucky they are to have me with them. My next step is physical therapy on a water treadmill. Then I can go for longer walks and hikes and really take in the sights and smells. I am well on my way to being an active 3-year-old girl and loving life to the fullest. She came from horrific years at a puppy mill. So, of course.I am so happy with all that I am giving her. She is giving even more than she is receiving! And thank you to all who donate to the Golden Angel fund. She is getting more and more open to new adventures.I am in love with this girl. We recommend GRRR to everyone! We thank you for your commitment to finding loving homes for these pups and for helping to bring Miss Lilly into our lives. Wishing you a healthy and treat-filled year, Matt Hoch, Victoria Massey, and Lilly Mission Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies is dedicated to the rescue, placement and public awareness to ensure that Golden Retrievers are adopted by people able to provide safe, loving homes. It is now one of the largest rescue groups in Colorado. GRRR cares for an average of dogs annually, with a network of committed volunteers, members and generous donors who assist with medical care, training, fostering and hospice care. Since inception, GRRR has placed over Golden Retrievers in forever homes, and the need for its services grows every year. For many years GRRR dreamed of having a facility to help dogs coming in from loving homes where the owners unfortunately could not keep them, as well as for those arriving as abandoned dogs or from shelters. Many need training for behavioral issues or rehab following surgery or injuries. The goal was to have a home for dogs in transition needing new forever homes, as well as for those who lived tied up outside, in puppy mills, or in other inhumane situations. The home would be a place where all dogs could learn to feel secure and loved; where they could learn to play and be prepared to join their new forever home. And it happened in when GRRR was able to purchase and renovate five acres of land in Northwest Arvada, thanks to a generous lead donation from Mitchell Graye and Pam Hollister in honor of their first GRRR dog, Phoebe, along with many other donations and the hard work of numerous volunteers. Following much work, Phoebe's Place has day kennels for intake, isolation and rehab, under the care of a live-in caregiver. There is also an adoption center, caregiver home, a grooming center and feeding station, and outdoor play areas, which add to the efficiency of caring for these dogs in one location. We have a donated bridge crossing the canal to our fenced 2-acre back portion of the property for dog walkers, visitors and events. The move to Phoebe's Place reduced overall costs of kenneling, and provided a place to help socialize and prepare dogs for foster care or adoption, as well as aiding those who need extra physical or behavioral help in their healing process. It also helps control costs and their predictability, which is part of the goal of assuring GRRR's future ability to serve its constituents by controlling its own destiny. In , Mitchell and Pam once again asked how they could help continue our success. Together we decided that renovating the Caregiver home and adding an addition to it would be incredibly helpful as we continue our mission of aiding these wonderful dogs on their way to their forever homes. Watch for this exciting project to progress in the months ahead! Media gallery.
This price range might still increase, especially if you opt for a puppy from a champion bloodline or one with rare coat color. Compared to both cousin dog breeds, purebred English Bulldogs cost more due to the extra care needed during birth. A pregnant British Bulldog must be closely monitored once it reaches its final stages of pregnancy. Female Bulldog: Which Is Better? Besides papers and registry documents, bloodline, age, and coat color are also some factors that could affect the average price of your Bulldog. Here is a detailed list of the factors that affect the price range of an English Bulldog: Age: English Bulldog puppies cost more than seniors or adult dogs because they are healthier and more active. Senior dogs often have tons of health issues that need immediate medical attention, while puppies are a joy to be with because they are at the prime of their health. Gender: Female English Bulldogs may cost you a bit more than a male because of their breeding potential. Potential owners and Bully enthusiasts also request a female pup more than males because of their better temperament. The demand pushes the price of female English Bulldogs to a higher cost. Rarer colors like tri-color , merle , and blue English Bulldogs are typically much more expensive. Bloodline: A champion English Bulldog puppy might cost three to four times as much as typical English Bulldog puppies. They are known to exhibit the best physique, temperament, and health. Plus, they are perfect for competitions. Reputable breeders often have a long history of breeding success. Their high prices are also backed by health guarantees and other safeguards. Health Screenings: Before selling their puppies, many breeders evaluate them for health problems. They sell their puppy for a higher price if it is deemed to be in excellent health. Regardless, it is still a good idea to look for an English Bulldog puppy that comes with a health guarantee. With this list, you might already have your own cost estimation for the pup you want. English Bullies that have been rescued have already been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and have complete registration documents. Before being put up for adoption, they undergo retraining and behavioral rehabilitation as well. Rescues often house more adult Bullies as puppies are more likely to be adopted immediately. To help you in purchasing, we have compiled a list of all the initial expenses for owning an English Bulldog: Food and Treats: One of the basic items you should get for your English Bulldog is high-quality dog food and a few treat packages for on-hand training. You may need to buy a few of them to see which one works best for your dog. As a fairly slobber-ish canine, you might have a hard time cleaning leftover dog food from a cheap container. Bed: To prevent your English Bulldog from abnormal physical disorders, it is best to invest in a high-quality dog bed. A crate may also be a safe haven for your dog when you are not home or when you have visitors. Leashes and Collars: Some of the first things you should get for your English Bulldog are leashes and collars. Be sure to get one that is a good fit for your dog. Metal nameplates included in these items that are less likely to corrode might cost a little extra. Toys: Chew toys that are easy to pick up and clean are ideal for English Bulldogs. Choose interactive and sturdy toys that will stimulate their high intelligence and withstand their strong jaws. Grooming Essentials: Brushing English Bulldogs a few times a week should keep them looking nice, and their shedding would be manageable. Cleaning moisture that could be trapped under their wrinkles is also a must. Nail clippers and a doggy toothbrush are good investments, too. Initial Vet Visits: English Bulldog puppies require initial vet examinations to ensure that they are healthy. Dog License: For an English Bulldog puppy, a license is a necessity. The dog microchip should have all your important contact information as the owner, increasing the chances of your Bully being returned to you as soon as possible if they get lost. Replacement costs of these types of goodies will range based on how quickly your Bulldog destroys their current supply. You can also order subscription packs from many reputable companies that give your dog new exploratory items every month. Since these dogs are at risk for many health complications, save as much as you can—erring on the side of caution. The best time for obedience lessons is between 6 months to a year, but every trainer varies in preference. Depending on the treatment, you could spend thousands of dollars in one swoop. Pet sitting is more personalized care but can rack up extra fees. If you want to save as much as possible while still giving your Bulldog the care they need, look at these money-saving tips. They mainly offer spay and neuter surgeries at reduced costs, but they can also provide basic care. You can make anything from dog toys to intricate beds. Many things you can make may not even require going to the store for materials—you can simply make them from existing items at home. Auto-Ship Dog Food If you buy your dog food from certain websites, many companies offer discounted prices if you place an automatic, recurring order. Of course, you can always save on English Bulldog costs by using low-cost services and making tons of at-home projects and toys for your pooch. We offer exactly that to anybody who wants some of the better bloodlines and genes a Pug can naturally possess. Our Pug puppies for sale started as a hobby. A small wish for my first Pug is where it began. We feel fortunate to be able to help others fulfill that same wish! We are highly against puppy mills or people that breed too close of lines; as that can present health risks. We are natives of Charleston, South Carolina. Coming from somewhat of a city life style, we know a small breed dog can be a better option. Pugs are small yet somewhat energetic. They "love to eat", but feeding them is financially manageable. Just don't give them too much, they would most definitely overindulge! Pugs are great around children! We have two boys and they are good with them and with friends, neighbors and other animals. Pugs have a keen sense of what makes you happy and are constantly trying to get you to laugh. They also love to be congratulated with treats. Pugs are a breed that enjoys being the center of attention, but also know when it's time to be lazy. Generally Pugs are a healthy breed. When they come from a trusted background of quality, good demeanor and traceable genetics you can't go wrong. Sometimes Pugs are loving, charming and mischievous all at the same time! Our family fell in love with the breed immediately after we bought our first Pug years ago. Owning your first Pug truly is a special feeling we would like to share with you too!
Life Span Did You Know? Black Labrador Retrievers, or just Black Labs, are a common coat color variation of one of the most popular dog breeds. The Black Labrador Retriever is not necessarily a separate dog breed. Black Labs are still Labrador Retrievers; they just have a distinct coat color that is a specifically-bred characteristic. Like other Labrador Retrievers, Black Labs are energetic, playful, and affectionate dogs that make great family companions. Although they are active and energetic dogs, Labs are also known for their gentleness and patience with other family members. Well-socialized Black Labs tend to get along well with just about everyone including children, other dogs, pets, and even strangers. They are considered one of the kid-friendly dog breeds. As one of the most affectionate dog breeds , Black Labs thrive on attention, especially from their favorite humans. They are happiest when they are spending time with their families and receiving affection and attention from them. Despite their high energy, Labs are highly adaptable dogs. They do tend to be better suited to homes with fenced yards where they can run, but they also adapt well to apartments provided they get enough daily exercise, attention, and mental stimulation. They do well in just about any climate, but are sensitive to heat and extreme cold like many dog breeds. As such, they do not like to spend long periods of time alone. Potential health concerns to be aware of in a Black Labrador Retriever can include elbow dysplasia , hip dysplasia, heart disease, hereditary myopathy, cataracts, and progressive retinal atrophy. Another potential health concern is EIC exercise-induced collapse , which can occur in young adult Labs and has a genetic link. Because carriers can be identified by DNA tests, it is recommended that breeders test for them. Good breeding practices make a big difference in the health of puppies and reputable breeders will screen their dogs to avoid passing preventable issues to puppies. Make sure you talk to the breeder about the health and genetic history of both parents. You can also ask about any health tests or clearances that have been done. As a large, deep-chested dog breed, Labrador Retrievers are at a higher risk for bloat. Labrador Retrievers are one of the best dog breeds for first-time owners. Although their high energy and puppylike exuberance can sometimes be a challenge, they are intelligent dogs that are eager to please. As long as training is kept consistent and focused on positive rewards and praise, novice owners still tend to do well with Black Labs. Puppy training classes are always an option and offer plenty of benefits aside from training too. Black Labs have a short, water-resistant double coat that sheds year-round and sheds heavier as seasons change. Depending on how active your Black Lab is and what they get into, they may need a bath more often, especially if they are swimming a lot. Weekly ear checks and careful cleanings when needed help prevent ear infections. Good dental care for dogs , like daily brushing and cleanings at the vet when needed, can help prevent painful dental diseases later in life. As one of the most active dog breeds , a Black Labrador Retriever will need a lot of daily activity to be happy and healthy. Daily walks plus some playtime and time to run are a minimum. Your Black Lab will likely be up for more activity if you are. One of the facts about Labrador Retrievers is that they have an extended puppyhood. They tend to maintain a puppylike exuberance until they are years old. Although they do tend to mellow out as they get older, they are still active, energetic, and playful dogs. Once they are fully grown, you can try other things like hiking, running, dock diving, and more to find other activities you and your Black Lab can enjoy together. Fully-grown Black Labrador Retrievers usually stand inches tall and weigh pounds. Black Labs generally live for years on average. Black Labrador Retrievers came before the also-popular Chocolate Lab. All modern Chocolate Labs can be traced back to three Black Labs in the s. It was the December issue of .Featured Black Labrador Retriever Article. Once they are 3 to 4 weeks old, we will move them into one of our two puppy nursery rooms where we can expand their box and begin the introduction to potty training. We LOVE our puppies and it shows in their care. We will only breed litters when we can guarantee that each puppy will receive daily individual love and attention. When we have multiple litters on the ground we hire in special daily helpers to ensure that our strict standards of care are always met. Our puppy program is extensive and comprehensive, yet we are continually fine-tuning and looking at ways to incorporate more. At a bare minimum this program includes: early neurological stimulation called ENS or Biosensor , early scent introduction ESI , introduction to crates, car rides, birds or bird wings, gunfire from a distance, water weather permitting , outdoor adventures in different types of environments, daily loud noises, introduction to potty training and lots of socialization with adults, kids and other dogs. We strive to give every puppy the best start possible. By the time they are ready to go to their new homes at 8 weeks of age, each puppy should be well prepared for whatever direction their new family takes them. Our very first litter was in and then we took a short hiatus from breeding until .Since resuming, we have had tremendous success with our very limited number of litters. The majority of our puppies have gone to homes where they live as part of the family and have proven themselves as exceptional hunting-working-competition dogs.
names for a female german shepherd puppy - For the complete list please see our Breeder Listings page. The price of a Boxer puppy varies depending on the breeder and where you are located. Boxer puppies usually go fast because this is such a popular breed of dog, so make sure you act quickly once you find one that interests you. The price of Boxer puppies in Texas might vary because of where you live and the reputation of the breeder. There are certain things you should consider when looking for a breeder like their location, reputation, and costs. The best way to research your breeder is by asking around for recommendations from other pet owners in the area. Word of mouth is often the most effective way to find a good breeder. Make sure you ask about costs and any guarantees or warranties that they offer. Visit Your Texas Boxer Breeder in Person Whether you physically searched for a Boxer puppy in Texas or found a breeder online, once you find one that interests you, the most important thing to do is visit them in person. It will also let you see their facilities first hand which can give you a better idea of what your puppy will be like. If possible, ask if they can let your future pup run around with other young boxers while you wait. This dog-to-dog interaction will help socialize him and make sure he grows up healthy and happy. Questions to Ask Ask for References from Your Boxer Breeder in Texas If you feel comfortable with your boxer breeder in Texas, ask to see references from other people who have purchased their puppies. If they are reluctant to give you any names or contact details of other customers, this might be a sign that there is something fishy going on. If previous customers had any issues with the company or their puppies, you should probably find another breeder. These people could also give you lots of helpful advice about your specific dog and what kind of personality he might have based on his parents and genetics. Meeting past customers will also give you the chance to ask them questions about their experience with your breeder. If they had any problems, this is your chance to find out all about it. Remember, even one bad review should be enough for you to walk away from a breeder. Even if your Texas Boxer Breeder has nothing to hide, they should still have a good veterinarian that they use regularly. The best way for you to find out is to ask them what type of veterinary care their dogs receive and who your puppy will be seeing. The general rule of thumb is that the longer the warranty period, the better the policy will be for you and your pet. The minimum amount of time usually given by breeders is 1 year but reputable breeders like those listed here at PuppySpot offer 2 to 3 years. Some lifetime warranties against certain genetic diseases. First of all, if the prices seem too good to be true…they probably are. Often times they just want your cash without caring about whether or not their breeding practices result in healthy, happy pets which could lead to expensive health problems down the road. Unethical breeders will also try to make you feel like they are doing you a favor by selling you their puppies, but this is just another tactic used to put pressure on the consumer. Finally, if the breeder says that only cash is accepted as payment…move on. Any refusal of credit cards should be an immediate red flag. Most reputable breeders will be honest with you and tell you if there are any issues or history of disease in either the parents or other relatives. The truth is that no one is perfect and every dog has some sort of health concern or another. Reputable breeders will know about these issues before they sell their puppies to you which means they will provide documentation for proof. How to Prepare Your Home for Your Boxer Puppy Before you actually bring your new boxer home, the first thing that you should do is make sure to set up a safe and comfortable area for them. First of all, you will need to find a way to confine your boxer while you are away at work or school. The good news is that there are many different options available for everyone whether they live in an apartment or have acres of land. You also want to make sure that the bathroom has been properly puppy-proofed before your boxer comes home. This will typically involve covering up anything sharp, electrical or poisonous items that could pose a problem for your new pet. Finally, if you have any valuable items on hand such as a TV or laptop, make sure to put them out of reach. In addition, whenever you bring them back inside from playing around in the backyard make sure to immediately put them on a leash so that you can quickly grab them if they need to go to the bathroom. Once again, this will be a lot easier if you have a fenced-in area for outdoor playtime but it can still be accomplished using an electronic fence if necessary. Boxers are incredibly intelligent dogs which means that most of them pick up on things very quickly. In fact, many boxer puppies learn how to properly eliminate outside all on their own within just a few days of being home with you. If they have any accidents inside, never scold them because this will only lead to confusion and mistrust. Instead, always use positive reinforcement by either praising them when they do something good or by giving them a treat whenever they go potty out in the yard. Continue doing this until they understand that going outside is the only acceptable place to have a bowel movement. I love animals and love helping people adopt a pet. Information to come! This means that for every litter, Sergeants Boxers will go down the list and offer puppies to the families in order of deposits received. The family may choose a puppy from the current litter or may pass to wait for a later litter. Even if the family initially expressed the desire for a puppy from a future litter early in the conversation, they will still be asked if they would like to select a puppy when the current litter selections start. Selections start at each litter's 6 weeks of age mark. This allows the families to not only pick from color, but also from personality. Please know that these can change at any time and are only listed for reference. This is non-negotiable. Address: Montgomery, Houston, Texas 4. DS Boxers, Texas. With more than 30 years of experience in Boxer breeding, the owners of this kennel, Ron and Debbie, are still loving every aspect of their jobs. They pass their love for Boxers onto their grandchildren as well! After spending time in Arizona, the couple decided to come to Texas and continue their family business, which has been going strong for the last 19 years in Decatur. A acre field is the perfect place to breed these wonderful animals. All puppies from this kennel have been tested for various diseases and conditions, had their dew claws done, and are vaccinated. However, like most Boxers, they do have high energy levels, which is why these dogs are more suitable for homes with bigger back yards. Breeder details:. Exercises Grooming From ancient Germany precisely around the 19th century had the now extinct mastiff breed Bullenbeisser and bulldogs brought in from England. At the time of their arrival, they served as hunting dogs for bears, deer, and other ferocious beasts, it would capture the prey with the help of its awesome teeth and detain it until the hunter arrives. And in the first boxer standard club was launched with a comprehensive document that is still in use today. Shortly after, the breed made its way into other European countries and got into the U. S in the late 19th century with the American Kennel Club taking registration of its first boxer around .During the first world war, boxers played the role of a military dog as a pack-carrier, a guard dog, and an attack dog, later they were taken home by the soldiers and got introduced into the domestic world as a show dog, best companion, and a reliable guard. One with so much life, energetic, curious, attentive, active, smart, sociable and incredible fun with children is the boxer, they are also known to be very patient and highly protective of their family members making them the love and desire of many homes. As active dogs, they need a lot of exercise to keep them mentally fit, apparently having a mind of its own, you will find your boxer entertain itself by digging the ground often, chewing, and licking the mouth to beat boredom. They are also very stubborn in character which makes them a terrible choice for first-timers with dogs, they are generally a bit difficult with adult dogs including dogs of a similar breed but friendly with puppies. They usually do not bark unless there is a genuine reason behind it but they love to growl. If you have occupied home with people around all the time or you want a canine buddy the whole time, then a boxer is just the perfect breed to get. Being a highly active dog, they dread loneliness and they can cope finely in both a house and an apartment as long as you provide it with enough room and spaces for exercises and activities. What you must have is a large yard if you are living in a house for it to dig the ground and run around as it likes. And more so, if you are given to being away from home most of the time, getting a boxer may not be the best for you and the dog, because they usually get aggressive when left alone. Boxers are known as loud snorers and they drool greatly too. Boxers are playful and very energetic dogs as such regular exercises are part of a good canine relationship, especially a breed of this sort. Your boxer should be allowed to play in a fenced area and on-leashed since it is likely to jump and leap around in excitement. This puts a boxer as a bad choice for a frail owner as they may find it a tad impossible and daunting keeping up with its excessive activity demands. Being a breed with a short and thin coat its grooming demands are quite easy and little, all it needs is a light brushing of the hair twice every week to maintain its good and gleeful looks. Bathing should be a once in a while since boxers are generally clean dogs and its nails, be trimmed once every month or as often as they grow worn on surfaces, its teeth should also be brushed daily to avoid tartar formation and other dental crises. Our Boxer puppies for sale come from either USDA licensed commercial breeders or hobby breeders with no more than 5 breeding mothers.
