After a year of doing my homework I bought a gorgeous Labradoodle from a breeder who I thought had incredible dogs, and introduced her into my home. We were thrilled.I put my labs into guardian homes and only had my Labradoodle at home. .I was sold on Labradoodles! No sneezing! Not only was my grandson not allergic, the dog herself was amazingly smart, kind, gentle and athletic. We could play all day and when it was time to come home and chill out she could switch gears effortlessly. I continued my experiment and had every test done on her required by the Goldendoodle-Labradoodle Premium Breeders List of which we are now a proud member , and found she passed every tests with flying colors, in fact, with some of the best hip scores Tufts University had ever seen. That piece of advice convinced me to follow the path I've been on ever since, and resulted in the birth of Tango Wool Labradoodles. My dogs live in the house with me or outside in our beautiful fenced-in backyard, using the kennel actually a mini-apartment inside the main house only occasionally if I need to be away for the day. Low maintenance but does shed at varying degrees. Not recommended for families with allergies. Fleece Coat Most Desirable. Curl varies. Typically non-shedding and good for people with allergies. Minimal to moderate grooming. Longer coats are kept, the higher the maintenance. Mostly non shedding and allergy friendly. More grooming, especially when coat is longer. At the Labradoodle Corral, we mostly produce a fleece coat. Wool coats are saved for the super sensitive allergy family. But a fleece coat is very soft, giving you that teddy bear feel, great look and the least maintenance. Red can fade somewhat with age. Red is a rare color and fairly hard to find. It can come in varying shades and may fade as the dog grows older. Blue also belongs to the Rare Color Group. Blue dogs are born Black but will have Blue skin and undertonings at a young age. Silver Colored Australian Labradoodles Born Black but will have more of a grey skin and will develop individual silver fibers at a young age. Silver dogs can take up to 3 years to color out and become a beautiful smoky grey through to a light iridescent platinum and varying shades in between at adulthood. All sizes of Labradoodles need some form of high intensity daily activity to prevent increased weight gain. It is also important to maintain a healthy, balanced diet for your pup to prevent obesity. Labradoodles are extremely intelligent dogs which is why they are used so often as guide, hearing and other support type dogs. Labradoodles will thrive on regular training and puppy preschool is a must! At puppy preschool pups are taught obedience and socialisation but the owner will also learn a lot about the breed, training strategies and toxic foods. They have had an extremely high success rate so far! We do recommend that if you have the opportunity to meet one of these wonderful dogs in person that you should check to see if you have any reactions before you make your decision in purchasing your new puppy. We recommend that any family or person who suffers from dog related allergies or asthma should look into a Wool coated Labradoodle as they have the highest success rate. Not all breeders are experienced in selecting coat types so make sure that you find a breeder who not only knows the look but also the correct texture of the coat type you are looking for. Because the breed is still in the development stages we are still are seeing some variations within the three coat types themselves. Also your fleece coats while over all are softer than your wool coats in texture they still have some texture variation within the fleece coat type. The Australian Labradoodle requires varying degrees of grooming depending on their coat type. A light trimming might be required with scissors but usually not. This coat usually requires trimming one-two times a year. The Micro Fine Fleece Supper soft and fine texture in wavy or spiraling coat is an allergy and asthma friendly coat, if kept well groomed. This coat also requires trimming about three-four times a year. The Cotton Wool Super dense curly-straight coat with a softer texture than the original wool or loose wool coats This coat is reminiscent of a giant cotton ball when groomed out and is so dense that it almost keeps it self standing straight up.
