We also have partnered up with several other high quality breeders that raise mini goldendoodle pups that meet our strict genetic criteria and testing. So we usually have a good selection of very high quality puppies. View Our Available Puppies! Not all mini Goldendoodles are equal, there are a few different versions to choose from each having a little different genetic background based on the pups parents. We will explain all the differences in Mini Goldendoodle puppies and how they are bred below. We raise all versions of the mini goldendoodle breed. F1 Mini Goldendoodle Pups. A F1 puppy is also known as a First Generation puppy. The puppies mother is a Golden Retriever and the pups dad is a Mini Poodle. This version of mini goldendoodle usually has soft wavy or curly puppy fur. They will shed until they lose their puppy fur, after shedding they will shed a lot less, but will shed. This version is partially hypoallergenic and usually requires low maintenance. F1 mini goldendoodles usually need to be groomed every 6 months along with daily brushing to keep their curly hair from matting and getting tangled. The dogs usually grow up having great temperaments similar to golden retrievers. They usually get about inches high at the shoulder and range in weight from pounds. F1b Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1b is known as a second-generation mini goldendoodle with the pups mother being already an F1 Goldendoodle and the pups dad being a mini poodle also. So the difference between F1 and F1b is that the mom is not a golden retriever but an actual F1 Goldendoodle. They also have very soft curly hair but with almost no shedding. This F1b version is semi-hypoallergenic and a better choice for anyone who has pet allergies. The F1b also should be brushed on a daily basis but will need to be groomed more frequently then a F1. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is recommended to keep their coat in perfect condition. F1b Mini goldendoodles get around 18 to 20 inches tall at the shoulders and range between pounds in weight. F1bb Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1bb goldendoodle is also known as a third-generation mini goldendoodle. This mini goldendoodle version has a coat more similar to a poodle than of a golden retriever. This is because the pup is more of a poodle than a retriever. Making it the very best version for anyone with pet allergies. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is required to help prevent knots or matting. This version is super intelligent and loving, and usually seems to have more energy than the other versions of Mini goldendoodles. This version is usually smaller in size, weighing around pounds and only getting inches tall at the shoulders. The smaller size makes them a great size for smaller homes and apartments. Below are some Mini Goldendoodle Pups that have been adopted! Learn more This well-established breeder has been operating in Central Illinois since and is now one of the biggest Goldendoodle breeders in the state. They also breed Bernedoodles. All the puppies are well-socialized and undergo extensive health tests, so you know that your puppy will come with all the health clearances you expect. Unfortunately, this breeder has a slightly higher pricing structure than many other breeders, but they do boast plenty of positive testimonials and reviews. The best puppies undergo proper health testing, and both parent dogs have rigorous health checks before they are approved as breeding animals. What Influences Goldendoodle Prices? There are a number of factors that influence the price of Goldendoodle puppies in Illinois, including: The size of the dog, when fully grown Color Generation of the puppy Coat type and likely hypoallergenic qualities The most expensive puppies tend to be those with curly coats that look like Teddy Bears since those types are usually the lightest shedders. That makes these pups extremely popular with allergy sufferers, reflecting their price. Unusual coat colors are also more expensive, especially parti, red, and merle. Regarding health testing, both parent dogs should be screened for common genetic diseases common to both breeds to reduce the chances of the puppies inheriting those problems. Size Is Important Most dog owners want a small dog, so the smaller varieties are therefore the most popular and most expensive. Unfortunately, that trend has pushed up the price of these pups. The possibility of making a quick buck has tempted backyard breeders and puppy mills to churn out multiple Mini Goldendoodles as quickly as they can. Most of the breeding dogs used by these operations are not health-checked, which has adversely affected the breed. Nothing is Guaranteed! So, you could spend a fortune on a curly-coated blue puppy only to end up with a wavy-coated white adult! Of course, every puppy is loveable and will give you just as much pleasure no matter what their color or coat type. The puppies were supposed to be bred from a purebred Poodle father and a purebred Show Cocker spaniel. The lady chose a puppy and took her home. In fact, the puppy was much larger, a totally different color, and far more demanding when it came to exercise and training than the breed she wanted. So, that could be something you want to ask about if your puppy is not an F1 generation dog. But is the advertiser genuine, or is it a backyard breeder or puppy mill? Here are a few telltale red flags to watch out for. Multiple Breeds Most genuine breeders only offer puppies of one breed. Any duplications can be a sign of a puppy mill. Remote Locations Advertisements for puppies should contain a landline telephone number, not just a mobile. Puppy mills are often hidden away in remote locations, so always make sure that the telephone number matches the area where the puppies are being kept. Copy Cats Backyard breeding operations often use the same adverts, cutting and pasting details of their puppies and even using the same text for advertising other breeds. Goldendoodle pups should be eight weeks of age before they can receive their first shots. If the advertisement tells you that the puppies are less than eight weeks of age and have been vaccinated, the seller is most likely a backyard breeder. Other Red Flags Other red flags to be aware of include: Puppies that are very cheaply priced are usually from backyard breeders or puppy mills. These businesses make their money by producing as many puppies as possible, as quickly as possible, with the idea of making the most of whatever the current trend is. Often, puppy mills expect you to meet them somewhere shady, such as at a shopping mall car park or in a gas station. Puppy farms often use photos or even videos of puppies that are not even theirs to sell as a marketing tool on their website. Furthermore, before you can be put on the waiting list, you need to be interviewed and approved by the breeder. That should indicate that your puppy will be free from any hereditary genetic health conditions that typically affect the parent breeds. Ideally, your puppy should come with vaccination paperwork, as well as proof of flea and tick prevention treatment and deworming. Always ask the breeder if you can see the mom and puppies together. You also want to check out the father so that you can assess his temperament. That report includes many puppy mills and backyard breeders that have been closed down or taken through the courts for malpractice. If you decide to try out other ethical breeders from other states and want to avoid falling into the hands of these puppy mills, you may want to pick from our list of Goldendoodle breeders from nearby places. The process of reserving, communicating with, and picking up Paisley from the Rabers was so smooth and I recommend Maple Valley to all who ask!! And a Toy Goldendoodle was just what Luke needed. In the short 8 months that Luke got to spend with his beloved Jasper he brought him so many smiles and memories I will forever be thankful. Jasper helped Luke get through the hardest days of his life, he made him smile, laugh and the best cuddle partner there ever was. Sadly Luke was called home to heaven on July 21, .Luke was never alone with the help of Jasper, his parents Chad, Nikki and older brother Caleb. Jasper is of course still residing with Lukes parents and brother and I am still trying to figure out a way to dognapp him!! We visit them often and sweet Jasper is always the first to greet us at the door. The first photo is the day Luke was surprised with him. I just wanted to write a few lines and give you an update on our Stella Dalisha. She will be 17 weeks in two days and 20 lbs. We are just in love with her. She is exactly what our little family needed. She fit right in with her big brother and sister Titus and Margo. Her and Titus have become the best of friends and are inseparable. We all laugh at her silliness and her little facial expressions. She walks around on her hind legs begging to be picked up and carried. She loves to go for rides in the car and any squeaky toy she can find. She has one more round of puppy shots before I get her spayed. Everyone at the veterinary office thinks she is just a delight. Thank you for raising such wonderful bernedoodles. Thank you so much for our little Stella Mae. We love her so much! From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A Goldendoodle is a mixed-breed dog, a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. Poodle hybrids have become increasingly popular and it is likely that the combination of Golden Retriever and Poodle has been duplicated by breeders in various countries at different times. History The first Goldendoodles were likely due to accidental breeding between Golden Retrievers and Poodles. The Goldendoodle is usually bred to be a family companion dog. Some are bred and selected for careers in service to humans as Guide Dogs, Therapy Dogs and other types of assistance dogs. Many people select a Goldendoodle because they love Golden Retrievers, but would prefer a dog that sheds less hair. Some have lost their Golden Retriever or Poodle to cancer or inherited disease, and hope that the hybrid cross will give their new pet a better chance of reducing those risks. Others may desire a dog that may not affect their allergies, although not all Goldendoodles will exhibit the low shedding coat type of the Standard Poodle. Cross-breed dogs do not exhibit standard characteristics, and while Goldendoodles may shed less than a Golden Retriever, the degree of shedding will vary from dog to dog. Grooming requirements are as varied as coat types, with the least shedding coat types requiring more regular grooming than the coat types that shed. There have been no studies to date verifying that any canine is completely hypoallergenic. Goldendoodles often are good swimmers, a characteristic of both parent breeds. Like any other cross-breed, the Goldendoodle varies from individual to individual, displaying differences in size, coat type, and color. A Goldendoodle s size is generally somewhere between that of the Poodle and the Golden Retriever parents, and the range includes standard, medium and miniature. Some standard-sized Goldendoodles have weighed over pounds. Upon reaching adulthood, a standard Goldendoodle will often weigh 45 pounds or more; a medium Goldendoodle will weigh between pounds, and a miniature Goldendoodle will weigh approximately 15 to 30 pounds. Goldendoodles have different coat types: wool, fleece, hair or a combination. The wool coat is more like a traditional poodle coat. A fleece coat can be either curly, wavy or straight, with hair more similar to that of a golden retriever. As a general rule, the more curly the Goldendoodle s coat, the less shedding there will be as the dog has more features of the poodle coat. Common colors are white, cream, apricot, gold, and red. Less common colors are black and silver. Rarer colors include brown, parti, and phantom. Goldendoodles are classified as various types depending on the breed of the Goldendoodle s parents. Temperament Similar to the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. Intelligent, affable, trainable, very human oriented, yet friendly toward other dogs. Moderately high energy dogs, much like their parent breeds. The Goldendoodle is not a purebred; rather, it is a specific type of mixed-breed dog or crossbreed. Some breeders prefer to restrict breeding to first generation F1 dogs i. Other breeders maintain that a Backcross F1B Goldendoodle i. Still other breeders are attempting to take this one step further and develop the Goldendoodle as a breed via selective breeding. You want to choose one carefully as their breeding practices will have an impact on the temperament and health of your Mini Goldendoodle puppy. Start by looking at online sources such as Google reviews, online forums, discussion groups and social media platforms to see what other people are saying about the breeder. Did they have a good experience buying from them? To take your research a bit further, you can ask Goldendoodle organizations and clubs based in your area about their opinion of the breeder you are considering to purchase from. Many Goldendoodle clubs also have their own lists of responsible breeders so they can give you additional recommendations for good Mini Goldendoodle breeders. You may also consider visiting some dog shows and events as they are a good opportunity to meet breeders in person and see their Mini Goldendoodles. You can also ask other dog owners that are showing their Mini Goldendoodles for breeder recommendations. Finally, ask potential breeders for references and consider contacting these people to ask about their experience with the breeder. Reputable breeders always prioritize the well-being of their dogs and strive for positive reviews. You should inquire about temperament and health of the Mini Goldendoodles these people purchased. Use this information to make an informed decision. All reputable Mini Goldendoodle breeders conduct them on their breeding dogs — whether they are breeding from purebred Golden Retrievers for F1 Goldendoodles and Poodles or from Goldendoodles for later generations like F2 Goldendoodles. A stipulates the health testing requirements for Goldendoodles and if the breeder is registered with G. A, you know that the breeding dogs have undergone full health testing. A heart clearance O. Ask to see documentation of these clearances before purchasing from a Mini Goldendoodle breeder. All responsible breeders should be willing to provide any health documentation. They should also be happy to answer any questions you have about their breeding program. However, if you have the opportunity to check out the facilities you should do it. Check that the kennels are clean, that they dogs and puppies have access to fresh water and also that there is not a build up of feces or urine. Comfortable living conditions: The breeder should keep their Mini Goldendoodles, Golden Retrievers and Poodles in comfortable living conditions. They should have large, comfortable kennels or dog beds and also have a decent amount of space to exercise and socialize with other dogs. Healthy breeding dogs and puppies: If you get the opportunity to meet the parents of the Mini Goldendoodle litter you are interested in, make sure they are well-tempered and also healthy. Sometimes the mother will be quite protective of her puppies so she may show signs of aggression. If you are purchasing a puppy online and getting it delivered, ask if the breeder would be happy to video call you or send videos of their Mini Goldendoodle puppies and breeding dogs to you. Ask About Socialization Mini Goldendoodle breeders should begin the socialization process before their puppies are sold. The puppies should be exposed to a wide variety of sounds, experiences, people and places so they can adjust to their new homes and adult life. Nevertheless, they should start exposing them to sounds like household appliances, provide mental stimulation with toys and games and also encourage playtime and interactions with their littermates and family. The most common ones are: Lack of registration: If a Mini Goldendoodle breeder cannot provide registration papers or other relevant documentation, it may be a sign that they are not operating a reputable breeding program. Overbreeding: Think twice about purchasing from a Mini Goldendoodle breeder who always has puppies available or offers an excessive amount of dog breeds. This may suggest that the breeder is overly focused on profit instead of the health and wellbeing of their puppies. Lack of health checks: A reputable Mini Goldendoodle breeder will conduct health clearances on their breeding dogs to ensure they are free of genetic health issues that could be passed on. If a breeder cannot provide documentation of these health checks, it may be a sign that they are not prioritizing health. Further Reading.

When do they start heart worm preventative? Our vet recommends they start Heartguard at weeks old and that they take Heartguard once a month. Heartguard prevents heart worms, as well as protects your dog from other common canine parasites that are easily found in soil or transmitted by fleas. When do you recommend starting flea and tick prevention? I personally do not like to treat my dogs for fleas and ticks unless we see a flea or tick, which has been rare over the years. That being said, I do keep a dose of Frontline around in the spring and summer months so that if we see anything, we can treat quickly. I do not like any of the chewable flea and tick preventives with the exception of Bravecto. We did have a tick outbreak about 5 years ago and no organic options were working. It became dangerous not to do an oral treatment due to tick-born illnesses. The reason I find Bravecto acceptable is because it has been tested on gestating and lactating females and found to be safe. Again, I would use Frontline only if I saw a flea or tick and then if I had a problem with ticks, I would use Bravecto for treatment because of the testing for safety by the company. At Texas Australian Multigenerational Labradoodles, we produce 4th generation Australian Labradoodles or later generations we do not have any of the early generation Labradoodles as their temperament, coat, and comfortation can be very unpredictable. Our Doodles are selectively bred for many generations to produce allergy-friendly, intelligent, easy to train puppies with gentle temperaments and exceptional beauty. Their coat is non-shedding and odor-free and works well with allergy sufferers. Our labradoodles are loved and well-socialized, which makes them perfect dogs for families with young children and homes that have other pets. Our Doodles are also perfect candidates for service, therapy, and companion dogs due to their intelligence as well as gentle and affectionate disposition. Our Australian Sheepadoodles are carefully bred by pairing our fabulous Old English Sheepdogs and extraordinary Multigenerational Australian Labradoodles. We are the only breeders that have paired these incredible breeds to create astonishing puppies who consistently deliver allergy-friendly silky coats, calm temperaments, and overall great confirmation. Our Doodles are loved and well-socialized which makes them perfect dogs for families with young children, first time pet owners, and families with other pets. However, our small size ensures that we are able to pay close attention to each of our Doodle puppies to ensure that they get the stimulation and the attention to reach their developmental milestones. Simply put, there are no puppies left behind at Texas Australian Labradoodles and Australian Sheepadoodles. The public is slowly recognizing the value of smaller programs that do not mill their puppies and a handful of Australian Labradoodle Breeders in the US are following our footsteps and cutting the number of adult doodles in their program so that they do not have to be housed in kennels. Our first one is almost 5 years old and we have a 2 month old. Lindy breeds them in a very clean home. She is extremely loving to these newborns and is open to all of our questions. She even follows up to see how they are doing. I would not buy from anyone else. Our 2 labradoodles get plenty of compliments. We have added 2 beautiful members to our family. I waited almost a year for mine and he has been life changing. They are truly amazing, healthy, loyal, and smart dogs! I have trained him and he is now a service dog and has been the greatest companion to me as well. Lindy always responded and kept me in the loop during the entire process. Before I met her I had a nightmare situation with a breeder that was a scam so was very skeptical but she made me feel at ease about everything. Thank you for everything Lindy! Nathan Kirton I ended up finding a puppy from someone else that fit my timeline better. The communication I had with her Lindy was amazing. She was super helpful, and gave me so much information about what I could expect. Thanks for being super helpful Lindy! We waited over a year and it was so worth it! Lindy was instrumental in our family getting the dog of our dreams. She was extremely helpful in asking and answering questions to ensure we got a right match for our family. She took into consideration all of my preferential factors such as the gender, coat color, personality, etc. The cherry on top was upon pick up at 8 weeks Teddy was healthy, socialized, potty trained, and vaccinated. Lindy pours love onto these dogs and puppies and treats her clients with tremendous respect. The puppies are happy and safely kept in an immaculate environment until sent home and I love that each family is celebrated with a photo to commemorate the occasion. Definitely worth the WAIT! Chuck Hahn Best dog ever!!! Worth the wait. He came home perfect! Testimonials Happy Faces Your happiness is our happiness, your success, our success. We take great pride in each and every home we complete with our dogs. We did tons of research. We wanted a dog that did not shed, was hypoallergenic, and had a good temperament. Those dogs are hard to find! We finally came across a very special Australian Labradoodle. We found our Rosie through my best friend who knew the owner of Australian Labradoodles of Texas. Her temperment is what we were really drawn to. She is so calm, obedient, and really wants to please you. She rings a bell when she needs to go outside and walks right next to you on her leash! We feel so lucky that we get to call her ours! To say that Miles has changed our lives for the better would be an extreme understatement! From the moment we set our eyes on him in your videos, we knew he was special, and he has shown us that a million times over. He is a sweet and affectionate dog who loves his family fiercely, acting protective when he needs to, yet demonstrates such a docile and gentle temperament to other people, especially small children who love to pet and squeeze his fluffiness. I had no intention of adding another dog to the mix! After several weeks, I finally pulled the trigger and we brought him home! Charley Brown was the perfect addition to our family and I would recommend these pups to anyone looking for a good family dog. All of our puppies come with Socialization.

With their signature bat ears and expressive eyes, French Bulldogs, or "Frenchies" as they are lovingly known, have captured the hearts of many dog lovers around the globe, consistently ranking among the most popular breeds. Renowned for their easy maintenance and the ability to thrive in apartment living, French Bulldogs are a city dweller's delight. Their small size, typically weighing under 28 pounds, makes them perfectly suited to compact urban spaces. However, their charming personalities and heartwarming companionship are universally loved, irrespective of city or countryside living. This breed's laid-back nature does not mean they're devoid of fun and play. On the contrary, French Bulldogs can be quite playful and are known for their often comical and entertaining antics, which only further endears them to their owners. Their affectionate demeanor, combined with a remarkably low barking tendency, makes them a joy to have around the house. French Bulldogs are sturdy, compact, and stocky, with a powerful muscular build that contradicts their small size. They have a smooth coat that comes in a variety of colors, from fawn and brindle to white and grey. Their facial expressions are human-like, and they're known to "talk" using a complex system of yawns, yips, and gargles. However, owning a French Bulldog does come with responsibilities. Their brachycephalic short-nosed nature makes them prone to certain health issues and less tolerant of extreme temperatures. Despite their muscular appearance, they are not the best swimmers, and care should be taken around bodies of water. The intentions were to breed a miniature version of the English Bulldog. French Bulldogs have climbed the charts in the dog world and were recently recognized as the second-most popular registered dog in the United Kingdom, and the fourth-most popular AKC-registered dog breed in the United States. French Bulldogs are non-aggressive dogs who like to stay near their owner. They enjoy one on one time and will quickly show their loyalty. They have very stable personalities and easy-going demeanors. They do exceptionally well with children and other animals inside of the home. Although they do enjoy outdoor play time, they are just as happy resting alongside their family on the couch. There are not many dog breeds as loyal and caring as the French Bulldog. The French Bulldog can be found to have a single-layer coat or a double-layer coat. The most common colors on a French Bulldog are white, cream, black, and fawn. They have short and easy-to-care-for hair which generally does not tangle or knot. A daily brushing will help keep his coat clean and neat looking. A bi-weekly bath and routine nail clipping are also a great way to allow him to look and feel his best. French Bulldogs do best with set feeding times. Typically, two feedings twelve hours apart are what make this breed happy. The first six months of their life is an important stage for their physical and mental development, which is why proper nutrition through high-quality dog food is so important. The French Bulldog generally stands ten to twelve inches tall. They weigh between twenty and thirty pounds. This breed has an average life expectancy of ten to fifteen years. Fact: This pup loves to play, but extra caution should be taken when he is around water. They do enjoy swimming but do not swim well. Fact: The French Bulldog was created to be a toy-size version of the Bulldog. Although spaying or neutering is not compulsory, it is highly advisable to spay your French Bulldog. This will help to decrease its chances of getting certain kinds of cancer. It also prevents the risk of unwanted breeding between your French Bulldog and any nearby dog. Are French Bulldogs Aggressive? French Bulldogs have the potential to be aggressive. However, they are not usually aggressive unless they are trained that way. I am about 2 years old and I love follow my foster mum around. She tells me I am her shadow. My foster potty trained me in a day and she said I am very very smart and I have to agree with that. I also learned new commands like sit, down, and off. We are working on the stay but I have a hard time sitting still because I have lots to keep an eye on inside. She walks me always on her right side and I became very well behaved in our leash walking training. I do like to be right by my foster brother Logan, so sometimes I will pull to be with him. I have an another foster brother and he is smaller and furry and he meows for food all the time when he is not sleeping. I love him and he give me sand kisses. We went to a coffee shop other day and all these people want to pet me and take pics of me. I felt like a movie star! On the walks I get overly excited when I see other dogs and I am very vocal about it. Sometimes the dogs get scared of me, but I assure you, I am awesome and not aggressive at all. I just want to say hi to ALL the dogs! But I warm up to everyone very quickly. I am getting a lot of love and attention right now and it will be ideal for me to not be left alone for too long. Hawaii Labradoodles!! We are excited to bring locally bred Labradoodles to Hawaii. We all currently reside in Kailua, Hawaii on the island of Oahu. Veronica grew up here on Oahu, in Kailua, on the Windward side. She's had many pets and has always been an animal lover who's enjoyed caring for pets since she can remember. Casey is originally from Huntington Beach, Ca. In , our little Jack Russell Lucy passed away and we were longing for another dog. We had a wish list of sorts that we had in mind for our next dog: great temperament and personality low to no shed bigger breed During our search, we came across the labradoodle breed which fit the description perfectly. But it couldn't be that easy.We wanted a unique phantom colored labradoodle. Until now, finding any quality multi-generational labradoodle puppy in Hawaii was impossible. In , we searched diligently and came across a breeder in New Zealand, Willowbrook Farm, who had just had a litter of phantom colored labradoodles. We worked closely with the breeder and finally chose to make Maya part of our family. We were updated weekly with her progress, provided pictures of her during the entire process and enjoyed a very friendly dialog with the breeders. We anxiously awaited her arrival until she finally made her big voyage at 12 weeks old. We instantly fell in love with her. She is so kind, loving, smart, and obedient. Just a beautiful dog. She loves to watch animal planet, enjoys her tummy rubs, car rides, and loves to snuggle. Maya had three gorgeous litters and is now retired from our breeding program. Maya Cruise In , we decided to add the most gorgeous breeding stud into our breeding program. He is a 9 yr old multi-generational labradoodle that we imported from New Zealand. His name is Cruise and he has sired several amazing litters. We are committed to providing Hawaii with excellent multigenerational labradoodles. There are many "breeders" out there just breeding to breed and are not considering their responsibility in providing healthy and quality puppies for you to enjoy and add to your family. Also, do your research on what a F1 or F1B labradoodle is. F1's tend to have a totally different look and will shed. The F1B generally pull towards the poodle side with longer noses and tighter curls. We are conscientious about filling a need for the labradoodle community without adding to the pet over population problem. We want committed families so we know that our pups would never end up in a shelter. If you are interested in being placed on the wait list for the next litter, please fill out a puppy application. Mahalo for visiting our website! Copyright by LiveAlohaLabradoodles. All rights reserved. He is the size of a Labrador Retriever. He was at the shelter where he came in as a stray. They treated him there for an ear infection and some mild skin inflammation which he has long recovered from. We did notice cloudiness in both eyes and were diagnosed with cataracts. Surgery was done to remove them and has recovered well but will need 2 different eye drops for life. He can be very playful with other playful dogs and loves to play fetch, or, can cuddle up next to you just as well. Walks are his favorite activity. He is also good with calm, friendly smaller dogs. He has not been around cats. With children, he does better with 12 years and older. Leon becomes attached to his human and will follow them like a shadow. He can be a little stubborn and will growl and snap at times when disciplined or if bumped while sleeping. He has been adopted twice and returned for this reason. Once he is comfortable in his new home, he will do it less. He may have separation anxiety at 1st, but with time and patience, he gets over it. He does better with a furry companion. He just needs someone to give him a chance. We believe he would do good in a house with a big yard, another playful dog, or an experienced, active family. If you want to meet Leon and see if he fits you, email us at heartandhomerescueorg gmail. We raise high-quality Mini Labradoodles as well as a few other breeds. Our first litter of puppies was born, and we realized we had fallen into something that we loved. Alisa and the girls knew that our lives would never be complete again without puppies in it. Poor Zach, who loves to build things, realized that if he wanted his garage back and to keep puppies out of his bathtub on cold nights he had better get started on a really nice dog house. Ha ha. Everyone was happy. Breeding can be an interesting field to navigate. There are many different breeding philosophies and many types of breeders but deciding what our program would look like was as simple as laying out our core values. Eight years later our program has grown. We now have four of our own beautiful dogs and several more in wonderful guardian homes. Breeding still brings us joy. We anxiously await every litter and love our time with your pup. We are excited to meet you and be a part of your journey. We carefully select our Dam and Sire for good health and wonderful personalities. We believe that nutrition is key to healthy happy dogs, so we offer good, high quality foods to mother and pups and carefully supplement with meat scraps. We live outside of Buhl, Idaho with lots of room for puppies to roam and play. We don't kennel our pups except at night for safety reasons. The puppies are a part of our lives from day one, and they will be well socialized to inside and outside environments, children, cars rides, and other pets. We believe in doing preliminary potty training as well as simple obedience training - even in the first 8 weeks. We allow the mother and pups to be together from day 1 to day 56, as they learn best from each other. We feel confident that these puppies will be happy, healthy, and well socialized. We would love to hear from you! Lily and Fisher's He is the perfect dog for our family. He is mellow indoors with us and adventurous outside. He came to us so sweet and content and well cared-for. His crate training and potty training have gone well too! It was a bit miraculous that we found each other, in a different state and pretty quickly, but Alisa was so responsive and informative. We are so grateful for the addition to our family! Winnie's Family I've had a great experience from the very beginning. Alisa is very communicative and answered all of my questions. She was kind, friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. It's clear that she's an experienced breeder. I also love knowing my golden girl has a health guarantee. Getting to meet my puppies mother and litter mate was a wonderful experience for us. Not only are her dogs healthy, but they are happy and well loved too. I have nothing but great things to say! Wrenly's Family I met the Atkinsons this past December after I had been talking to Alisa about how I was interested in getting a puppy. Since then they have all become family. With every step and question Alisa was there with an answer and let me see my pup multiple times before I even brought her home. They have given me the best experience and truly care and love their dogs like family! A lot of that is because of the breed of course, but also from the socialization and love and attention the Atkinsons give their dogs from the very beginning. Highly, highly, highly, recommend Atkinsons goldens to anyone interested in a puppy. We live a couple hours away and they were so good about sending us pictures, updating us with how our little guy was doing every few days and even a FaceTime date on Christmas Day to surprise our girls. We got our first poodle in when my children wanted a dog and I was looking for one that didn't affect their allergies. Previously, we had only had strays and rescues but with the need for a "hypo-allergetic" non-shedding dog, I went on the search for a Poodle, as that was the dog I was brought up with and familiar. We had so much fun with the pup. With that, our love for raising and breeding Toy Poodles began. I had only three females and a little boy. These dogs were my pets and became my passion. My children learned along with me as they helped with the pups. Years later, my love for Standards developed after having a couple Standard Poodles as pets. Then came my quest to produce the most awesome personality, temperment, and healthy Standard Poodles from DNA health tested parents. We now specialize in the awesome deep and mahogany red. Along with reds, we have stunning apricot and elegant black and merle. We have incorperates brown, brown phantom and brown parti. And Maybe some unique surprises along the way. Our Pups are raised with Early Neurological Stimulation and Puppy Culture see left tab for more details to prepare them for the "real world". They will be exposed and desensitized to most dailey noises that they will encounter. They will be kid friendly as well as be pre-house and pre-crate trained, pre-leash trained, and accustommed to grooming. Pups are raised at Ohio Standard Poodles are loved dearly by the family, which now includes extended family and grand-kids, who are also learning to love and appreciate this majestic breed. Our Moms' health is the primary concern when planning a breeding program at Ohio Standard Poodles. The pups need to be eight weeks old to leave, but if there is a very small one for some reason or they are nursing longer than usual, we may choose to keep them longer. Some of our pups do go on to win show and agility compititions as well as are been trained for service, therapy, hunting, and even one as a doggie model. Our lines include Heavenly, Imperal, Cantope, and Leatherstocking. But our promary goal is to produce intelligent, people loving, easy going, cpmpliant pups that mesh wonderfully into loyal family menbers. Therefore, the primary goal of Ohio Standard Poodles is to raise our pups for temperament and personality, working on trust and responsiveness from an early age and to teach the grand-kids proper handling of the puppies. All pups come current with their vaccines and de-wormings, are Micro-chipped, a care package. Health and genetic testing helps insure the quality of our babies and can be see on the specific pages for the individual parents. All of Ohio Standard Poodles babies are well loved, pre-spoiled, and well socialized to people and other animals here in central Ohio. Our babies deserve good homes, so convince me that you will love your new little one. Application approval is required. Found on an upper left tab. We have an absolute return policy. References available. FAQs 1. The price of a Poodle is often a mystery. This is due to numerous reasons, among which the quality of a breeder is at the top of the list. On the other hand, Toy Poodle breeders will most likely differ from Standard Poodle breeders in price, as size is one of the most important price determinants when it comes to Poodles. This is due to the fact that a health guarantee, vaccination and deworming, dog food, collars, and dog training are included in the price. This is not a good deal, as those breeders cannot guarantee you the health and the bloodline of a puppy. A lot of extra work is put into these puppies and, here, I refer to additional training and grooming. There is no such thing as the best Poodle dog. All Poodle puppies have their own advantages and disadvantages. It is up to you to decide which Poodle size suits you the best. All Poodle puppies, Toy, Miniature, or Standard, share some common values and make excellent family dogs. To Conclude… There are 9 Poodle breeders in Ohio that will make you want to buy a Poodle puppy immediately! This is due to their dedicated work and a lot of commitment they invest into breeding these magnificent puppies. All of these nine breeders are excellent in business, they sell AKC registered Poodle puppies of all colors and sizes, and they offer a health guarantee. The choice is a sweet torment, as you will enjoy every single one of them, for sure! Contact Us Red Poodles With all the colors available in Poodles it could be hard to choose your puppy. However, it is the red Poodle that is so very rare, so stunning and so special! It does appear that it is a completely separate gene than the other poodle colors. Red Poodles are the newest color developed, it only became an official color in .A red poodle will have black points, nose, gums, under paws and very dark eyes. Liver points are acceptable, but not preferred in red poodles. Red poodles are a stunningly beautiful color, one that is very close to the color of humans with natural red hair. Poodles come in the light red new copper color to the darkest of any human with dark auburn hair. Ilse Konig was the first person who developed the red color of poodles. It was first developed on the Standard Poodle, then crossed with an Apricot female miniature Poodle. After many years of selective breeding, we now have Red Poodles in all the poodle sizes. While developing the red color, it was imperative to breed for all the qualities of a well-bred poodle, which includes temperament, health, conformation, and beauty. Missing any one of these characteristics the red poodles would not be complete! Typically, red poodle puppies are born quite red, then, when they are about 6 weeks old, their coats will turn less red. Then at about 10 weeks, you can see a definite dark red line next to the skin where the new coat color is coming in. It is thrilling to see this in a red poodle puppy. Their mature red color changes cannot be predicted by the color of the puppy. Some dark apricot poodles will stay a brighter color than the red poodles. The Poodle breed is a breed that does change color, as do some other breeds. Do be aware that red poodles can fade, it is common for these breeds to lighten up as they age. Each dog is an individual and will change. This is not to say that the mature red coat will not be gorgeous in its own right. Red Poodles, and poodles in general, tend to lead lively energetic lives. Red poodles are extremely loyal companions, making them ideal pets. They love to learn tricks and will perform for audiences of enthusiastic onlookers and their red color stands out above the rest! Most designer dogs have one thing in common: they are crossed with a Poodle. There is a very good reason for that, the Poodle cross brings up the intelligence and ability to train. Crosses also get some of the benefits of the hypoallergenic qualities of the Poodle, and less shedding. If you live afar, we can safely ship your red poodle puppy to the closest major jet port. If you would like to move forward with reserving one of our red poodle puppies, or any of our puppies, then please search our available poodles , find one you are interested in and then submit your application! What to consider before bringing your poodle home Our Philosophy We believe that standard poodles are loving members of the family. They are excellent companions who are devoted to their people. Poodles have a range of personality traits with varying levels of play drive, retrieve drive, prey drive, and, of course, couch-potato-ness. Most poodles love to play. Average, well-socialized poodles love to go everywhere with their family. The hallmarks of the standard poodle personality are well-rounded athleticism, intelligence, and a will-try-anything attitude that makes for a can-go-anywhere kind of dog. Standard poodles don't shed, are good with with children, and generally interact well with other pets. Just like people, each is unique and comes in a wide range of colors and patterns. Whether it's one of many solid colors, spotted or parti, a brindle, tuxedo, sable, or a phantom pattern, there's a standard poodle for everyone. Poodles need quality time with people and other animals, physical exercise and mental stimulation, quality food, medical care and grooming. Poodles are not outdoor dogs to be left tied up, away from people. Due to their high intelligence and athletic abilities they need something to do, someone to play with, and someone to guide them. If you have any questions about how best to care for your new family member, just ask. We're happy to help! Heart Song Standard Poodles is located just outside of Huntsville, Alabama on 4 acres where the poodles can watch our horses, bark without fear of bothering the neighbors and enjoy the natural outdoors. We strive to improve the breed with each puppy we bring into the world. We focus on temperament, health, diversity, and the breed standard. We carefully select our mothers and fathers, producing happier, healthier dogs in a range of colors. As advances in genetics improve our understanding of health issues, we continually adapt and modify our breeding program to take advantage of the latest science. As professional breeders we breed red, apricot, black, creme, white, brown, parti, phantom, sable, solid colored and brindle standard poodles. This is not written by us but it's how we do things. I thought of you years before you even realized. I planned for and cared about your baby long before you started thinking of adding to your family. I worried about your future with that puppy before you knew there would be one. There were hours upon hours spent researching lines for the parents of your puppies. Going over breeder after breeder, choosing not only my pet but looking for a dog that will make you your pet. Worrying if you'd be happy, if I had chosen correctly and your puppy would grow up healthy and happy. Going over puppy after puppy with fellow breeders, running over my program with as many knowledgeable breeders as I can, determined to not miss anything. Tracing lines back as far as I could, learning the ins and outs not only for my knowledge but so that I was informed, prepared to go over every detail with you, to answer the questions that sometimes you don't even ask. Then there's years of watching your puppies parents grow. Loving them and enjoying them as part of my family. Taking them every where I can, training them, socializing them, watching how they fill out. Asking myself I had made the right choice in both of them. Scrutinizing their conformation, how they move, and their temperament. There was the stress of health testing. Praying not only that my babies were healthy but that they had the genes to make your baby healthy. Finally came the time to put your puppies parents together. For the next 63 days I worried, I obsessed, I grew excited. I watched your puppies mom like a hawk. Making sure my baby was ok, monitoring her diet better than I do my own. Concerned that she was getting enough of the right nutrients and that your growing baby was getting the best start possible. I spent hours on the couch, floor, and dog bed with her watching her tummy grow and anxiously waiting. As your baby and mine grew I laid my hands on her tummy and felt the first movements of your puppy. As the time grew close I spent most nights in the nursery with her. Making sure she didn't go into labor without me knowing, in case something went wrong and one of our babies needed help. When labor started my whole life stopped. I spent every second with her. Your baby was born into my hands and I held my breath as I cleaned them up, watching for movement and breathing, cleaning them up, checking them over, and wondering if you'd love them as much as I already did. I helped your babies brother when mom got tired and he was stuck. I cried when your babies sister didn't make it. For the first 8 weeks most of my life was filled with your baby. Watching them grow and making sure I was doing everything possible to make sure they started their lives the right way. Making sure each one was getting enough to eat, enough socialization time, that they were de-wormed and given their shots. I was the first person they saw when they opened their eyes. I spent my weeks playing with them and keeping them safe. I searched for you and interviewed you. As you spoke I tried to read your character. Would you love them as much as I do? Would you bring them in as part of your family? Would you care for this tiny life that I brought into this world that I am responsible for? Some of you were turned away but some of you were welcomed into our family. The day you took your baby home was harder than I'd ever let on. I was excited for you but I was also terrified. Had I chosen correctly? Were you who you seemed to be? My love and worry didn't end there. I thought about your baby regularly, saddened when I didn't get updates, ecstatic when I did. I hoped you were caring for your baby the way I care for mine. I answered your questions happily and answered them again just as happily to your babies siblings new parents. When your puppies sister ate a couch I stayed up that night she was at the vets, waiting to hear that she was ok. When their brothers parents decided he no longer fit in their life I welcomed him home, sorry that I had chosen wrong for him and promised him it wouldn't happen again. I loved your baby first and I will never stop. Our puppies have been placed all over the United States. They adapt easily to any environment and travel well. We have puppies happily living in downtown Atlanta, Nashville, Miami and other large cities. Some of our puppies live in typical suburban homes, others in a rural setting or on the beach. You must fly with your puppy or drive to pick them up in person. We do not ship puppies. The poodle is also regarded as the national dog of France, where it was once commonly used as a retriever. Many poodles love water starting from a young age. Poodle puppies often play in their water bowls. Poodles also drink from the hose and frolic in the rain. On the opposite end of the spectrum is the poodle who doesn't want to get their feet wet, walks on the sidewalk, and refuses to go out in the rain. This poodle stands in the doorway, sniffs the rain in the air, and looks at you to say, "Do we really need to go out today? Sometimes, a poodle's size is described as teacup or royal standard. These terms are used to describe a very small toy or a large standard poodle, but are not official size categories of poodle. In Europe, there is a fourth size, known as a moyen in France meaning medium or a klein poodle in the rest of Europe. Moyen or klein poodles range between 15 and 20 inches at the shoulder. In the United States, a moyen or klein is considered a small standard poodle. At Heart Song Standard Poodles, we breed standard poodles. A standard poodle is a poodle that is 15 inches or over at the shoulder. Standard poodles can range from the smaller 15 inch to the larger 27 inches or more. The majority of standard poodles are between 45 and 60 pounds. Standard Poodles come in a variety of colors and patterns, including red, black, white, creme, apricot, silver, blue, brown, silver-beige, cafe-au-lait, parti, phantom, tuxedo, abstract, brindle, and sable. Some poodles are solid colored, while others are multi-colored. Multi-colored poodles include parti poodles, phantoms, brindles, and sables. AKC does allow both multi-colored and solid-colored poodles to participate in all other events including obedience, agility, rally, and more. Poodles are classified in the non-sporting group in the AKC. UKC allows both solid colored poodles and multi-colored poodles to be shown in conformation. They allow all poodles to compete in all events. Poodles in the UKC registry are classified in the gun dog group. Dogs that are advertised as merle poodles are not full blooded poodles. The poodle breed has no gene for the merle color. Dogs that are merle colored must have been mixed with another breed, even if it was many generations back. Be careful when anyone claims to have merle poodles. Unfortunately, unsuspecting buyers may purchase a merle puppy thinking it is a purebred poodle. They often pay a premium price because it is advertised as a rare color. Heart Song Poodles Blog Everything poodles, articles and tips on how to care for your poodle. Read our latest news.
poodle puppies northern california - Trieven Pointing Labradors The Labrador that points when hunting upland birds has been around many years and includes some of the top field trial dogs that were lucky enough to ever enjoy an upland hunt. My boyfriend spent months researching beforehand. However, from the moment Libby arrived we have been nothing but pleased. She wakes up every morning ready to train and can hardly wait to get in the water. Not only is she amazing on the field, But at home as well. She is extremely affectionate and never leaves my feet. We love her so much and we would highly recommend this breeder! My wife and I decided we wanted a started dog that was well into his training, would make a great waterfowl dog, and a great indoor family dog. Dusty is perfect. He assimilated and bonded very quickly with us and our Brittany. Our daughters love him too! I really appreciate the time you took with me and Chandra prior to purchase and talked us through all our questions and concerns. It was also really nice getting an opportunity to spend time with the dogs prior to purchase. I appreciate you putting together a training package when we bought him. Getting training curriculum from you to work with him at home and coming to your kennel on a regular basis is the perfect combination for us. Many thanks! When considering the addition of a Goldendoodle to your family, one of the first questions that come to mind is, "How much does a Goldendoodle cost? This comprehensive guide will delve into various aspects influencing a Goldendoodle's price. Additionally, we'll discuss the importance of choosing reputable breeders and provide valuable information on protecting your pup with innovative technology like Fi's GPS-tracking dog collar. By learning about these factors beforehand, prospective Goldendoodle owners can confidently navigate this process while ensuring they bring home a healthy and happy companion. How Much Does a Goldendoodle Cost? If you're considering adding a Goldendoodle to your family, it's essential to understand the costs associated with this popular and lovable breed. In addition to the upfront cost of purchasing or adopting a puppy, ongoing expenses like vet visits, vaccinations, grooming services, and pet food need to be considered. The cost of a Goldendoodle puppy can vary, depending on several elements, which will be discussed in further detail later. First, however, it's essential to focus on the purchase price and consider routine costs throughout your dog's life. These may include annual check-ups at the veterinarian's office including vaccinations , monthly heartworm prevention medication, grooming sessions every weeks, and high-quality pet food that meets their nutritional needs. How Much Is a Goldendoodle Puppy? The price of a Goldendoodle puppy can range widely depending on the breeder, its location, and any special features it may have. However, some breeders may charge even higher prices if their puppies come from an exceptional bloodline or have unique traits. Purchasing From Breeders Breeder reputation: Look for reviews online and ask around within local communities or social media groups dedicated to Goldendoodles. Health testing: Reputable breeders will conduct health tests on both parent dogs before breeding them together. Puppy contract: A responsible breeder should provide a written agreement outlining what they guarantee regarding your new pet's health status and other terms related to care after purchase. Finding Adoptable Dogs Through Rescues and Shelters Adopting a Goldendoodle from an animal rescue or refuge can be a great way to give a home to an abandoned pup while saving money. Many organizations specialize in rescuing specific breeds, like the IDOG Rescue , which focuses on finding homes for doodle dogs such as Goldendoodles. Keep in mind that adopting through shelters may require additional time and patience compared to purchasing from breeders since you might have to wait until your desired breed becomes available. However, this option is often more affordable than buying directly from breeders and helps support animal welfare efforts. Factors That Impact the Cost of a Goldendoodle When considering the purchase of a Goldendoodle, it's essential to understand that various factors can impact their cost. Colors The color of a Goldendoodle's coat can significantly influence its price. Rarer coat colors, such as reds and merle goldendoodles , are more expensive than common shades like cream or apricot. While this may not affect the dog's personality or health, many potential owners are willing to pay extra for unique appearances. Dogs with proven lineage from reputable breeders often come at higher prices due to their genetic quality assurance than those without documented ancestry. Breeder Reputation Reputable Breeders: Purchasing your puppy from reputable Goldendoodle breeders ensures you get a healthy dog raised in good conditions. Reputable breeders follow ethical breeding practices by testing parent dogs for genetic disorders and providing proper care during pregnancy and after birth. This level of care comes at a higher cost but provides peace of mind knowing your pup is coming from responsible hands. Puppy Mills and Pet Stores: It's crucial to avoid buying from puppy mills or pet stores, as these establishments prioritize profit over the welfare of their animals. Dogs bred in such conditions often suffer from health issues due to poor breeding practices and inadequate care. While puppies from these sources may have a lower initial cost, they can lead to higher expenses in vet bills later on. We do not recommend buying from a pet store or a puppy mill. Estimated Size The size of your Goldendoodle will also impact its price. Smaller Goldendoodles, like Mini Goldendoodle or Teacup varieties, typically cost more than Standard-sized dogs because they are in higher demand due to their convenient size for apartment living and easier handling by owners with limited space. On the other hand, larger adult Goldendoodles might be less expensive but could require more resources for grooming costs, food consumption, and exercise needs. The Prices of Different Size Goldendoodles Goldendoodles come in various sizes, which can significantly impact their cost. In this section, we will explore the prices of Mini, Teacup, and Standard Goldendoodles to help you understand how size affects the overall price. Mini Goldendoodle Price The Mini Goldendoodle is a popular choice for those who want a smaller dog with all the wonderful qualities of a standard-sized one. These dogs typically weigh between pounds and stand around inches tall at shoulder height. You may also find that some breeders charge more for rarer coat colors or patterns. Teacup Goldendoodle Price If you're looking for an even smaller version of the beloved doodle breed, then consider getting a Teacup Goldendoodle. Weighing only pounds and standing just under 12 inches tall at shoulder height when fully grown makes them perfect pets for people living in apartments or small homes. Keep in mind that caring for teacups might require extra attention compared to larger breeds, so be prepared for additional expenses in the long run. Standard Goldendoodle Price The Standard Goldendoodle is the largest of the three sizes, weighing between pounds and standing around inches tall at shoulder height. These dogs are known for their friendly personalities and low-shedding coats, making them great family pets. It's essential to choose a responsible breeder who prioritizes health testing and ethical breeding practices when purchasing your new furry friend. This innovative device allows you to keep tabs on your dog's location at all times, giving you peace of mind knowing that they are safe. Personality Goldendoodles are typically affectionate, social dogs with a gentle temperament. They get along well with children and other pets in the household. They enjoy activities such as walking, running, swimming, or playing fetch. Providing them with at least 30 minutes of daily exercise is essential for keeping your Goldendoodle happy and healthy. Additionally, engaging in mental stimulation exercises, like puzzle toys or obedience training sessions, can help keep their minds sharp. By adopting, not only do you save money, but you also provide a loving home to an animal in need. Purchasing or Adopting an Older Dog Instead of a Puppy If your heart is set on owning a Goldendoodle, but the price tag seems too steep, consider adopting or purchasing an older dog instead of opting for puppies. Older dogs usually come with lower prices as they might not possess certain desirable traits like specific coat colors or pedigree lineage. Additionally, senior dogs tend to be calmer and require less training than their younger counterparts. Conclusion After considering all the factors that impact the cost of a Goldendoodle, it is safe to say that they can be quite expensive. The price of a Goldendoodle can vary significantly, depending on factors such as size, age, and the breeder's reputation. Additionally, grooming costs and potential health issues should also be taken into account when calculating the actual cost of owning a Goldendoodle. Other factors such as generation, location, physical features, and health may also affect the puppy price. You might be wondering why the average price is unreasonably high. This is because breeders spend years studying how to produce perfect dogs. Also, the process of getting this mix is complicated. However, getting a Goldendoodle puppy from a puppy mill or backyard breeders is not a good idea. The initial price may save you a few bucks, but you may end up spending more on maintenance costs in the future. Since the size of Goldendoodle puppies varies depending on the weight of the parent dogs, they come in a variety of sizes: Standard, Medium, and Mini Goldendoodle. Standard Goldendoodles usually follow the size of a parent Golden Retriever. A Goldendoodle which comes in the toy, micro, and teacup categories, is the most in-demand, with teacup Goldendoodles being the most expensive. For this mixed breed, the size is not directly proportional to its price. Below is a detailed list and an explanation of each factor that may affect Goldendoodle price: Size: Goldendoodle puppies come in three sizes: Mini, Medium, and Standard. Contrary to its size, the teacup Goldendoodle is the most expensive. This is because small breeds easily develop health issues; thus, reputable breeders spend more time and effort breeding them. Coat Type: Goldendoodles can have straight, curly, or wavy coats, depending on the parent dogs. Since those wavy and curly coats are non-shedding and hypoallergenic , they tend to be more expensive. Brown, cream, and white are the most common colors for this mix, while parti is one of the rarest. Demand: This mix is one of the most in-demand designer dogs to date, especially the mini Goldendoodle. Over-breeding may sound like a solution for many breeders, but this will greatly compromise the health of a dog. Reputable breeders opt to increase their prices by tenfold instead. Location: Goldendoodle puppies cost lower in rural areas than in densely-populated cities. This is because the cost of living in rural areas is lower than in urban cities. Reputable Goldendoodle breeders in a rural area could have spent less for the mix; hence they charge lower prices. Getting cheaper options from puppy mills might save you a few bucks, but you will end up spending more on maintenance costs in the future. Aside from the aforementioned factors, gender, genetic testing, health guarantees, health testing, training, generation, and pedigree may also affect its pricing. Consulting with a Goldendoodle breeder may help you know more about the other factors and determine if a Goldendoodle price point is reasonable. If the cost is not within your budget, getting one from a puppy mill or a backyard breeder may be an option, but this does not guarantee that you will get a healthy dog. If you cannot afford the average Goldendoodle price or risk it with puppy mills or backyard breeders, then adopting a Goldendoodle may be your best choice! You can choose to adopt from local shelters or rescues. Adoption fees vary between shelters and centers. Designer dogs like Goldendoodles are also a rare find in shelters and centers unless they are old, past their prime, or terribly sick. Miniature Goldendoodles are even harder to come by in these places. Hip dysplasia , a disease common among large dogs, is one of the reasons Golden Retrievers and Goldendoodles are found in rescue facilities. Dogs with hip dysplasia are often harder to look after. To keep them safe, healthy, and happy, you need to prepare their food, bowls, bed, toys, grooming essentials, medications, licenses, and many more. The list below is a compilation of the most basic and important items you need to initially buy for your new furry companion: Food and Treats: The amount of food and treats that a Goldendoodle puppy needs will depend on its size and energy level. Food and Water Bowls: Getting food and water bowls made of stainless steel will save you a lot of money in the long run. Bed: High-quality beds will ensure that your dog will get all the rest that it needs after a long day of playtime. Crate: Crate training may sound unnecessary for those who plan to raise puppies indoors, but Goldendoodles tend to seek shelter and independence when they get stressed. Leash and Collar: A leash and a collar will come in handy when you bring your Goldendoodle outside for dog walking and training. Toys: Goldendoodles and dogs, in general, will undergo a teething stage and chew on almost anything to relieve boredom and pressure on the gums. Deworming, Flea, and Tick Medication: Ask a reputable breeder if the dog has been dewormed or treated for fleas and ticks. Initial Vet Visits: To ensure that your dog is growing normally and without abnormalities, an initial visit to a licensed veterinarian is essential. Initial Vaccine Shots: Initial veterinary care will include vaccinations. Neutering or Spaying: The benefits of neutering or spaying outweigh its risks. Dog License: In case your dog gets lost or involved in an unexpected scenario, having a dog license will help them be identified and brought back to you safely. In case your dog gets lost, this will increase the chance of getting your dog back as quickly as possible. Miscellaneous Supplies: Owning a Goldendoodle entails buying other essentials such as potty pads, carpet cleaners, poop bags, disinfectants, and more. Below is a table containing a breakdown of the most basic items that you need to purchase before taking your dog home: Type of Expense. There are six main factors that will help us determine how much you should expect to spend on your future Goldendoodle. Size There are five sizes of Goldendoodles —standard, medium, mini, toy, and teacup. That rule is, the smaller the size, the higher the price. First and foremost, you want to pick the Goldendoodle size that will work best in your family. All else being equal, however, you may save significant money by choosing a larger dog. Generations are what describe the genetic makeup of Goldendoodles and how close in DNA they are to their Poodle and Golden Retriever ancestors. Some Goldendoodles may even be hypoallergenic , though this can never be guaranteed. More Poodle DNA frequently results in a curlier coat. When it comes to Goldendoodle price, the closer in DNA your potential dog is to a Poodle, the higher the cost will usually be. This is because the demand for allergy-friendly and low-shedding dogs is very high. Location As the cost of living increases, so does the cost of a puppy. For example. Sometimes it can be helpful to drive a few hours to a Goldendoodle breeder further away. While less convenient, it could save you a little bit of money if you are from an area with a high cost of living. How did they seemingly get such a bargain? The answer is where they got their dog from. These owners likely adopted their Goldendoodle from a shelter or rescue organization. Quality, reputable breeders typically charge a premium for their puppies. On the other hand, puppy mills and backyard breeders will sometimes charge very low prices because their expenses are so much lower. Be careful, sometimes you get what you pay for. A cheap, unhealthy puppy will cost you more in the long-term than a more expensive, healthy dog. Click here to get an instant, online pet insurance quote from Healthy Paws! These stores thrive off of emotional, impulse purchases and receive strong criticism for obtaining their puppies from questionable breeders. Color There are so many colors of Goldendoodles, it may be impossible to choose your favorite! There is a wide spectrum of solid color options like cream, apricot, chocolate, or black. On top of that, there are unique, multi-color patterns like parti, merle, phantom , and sable. Many breeders base their pricing partially on color. Usually, the rule of thumb is that multi-color Goldendoodles, particularly those with rare or desirable patterns , are going to be significantly more expensive than their solid-color counterparts. For more budget-minded folks, a solid color Goldendoodle puppy will be just as cute for a fraction of the price. Usually, black. Black Goldendoodles are adorable, but are often overlooked and you can sometimes find them at a bit of a discount depending on the demand. The moral of the story when it comes to choosing a Goldendoodle color is to keep your options open. When there are lots of prospective buyers and not a lot of available puppies, prices will go up. When there are plenty of available puppies but not a lot of buyers, prices will go down. The best example of this when it comes to buying a puppy is around the holiday season. Goldendoodles, along with many other breeds, are often given as Christmas presents to children or spouses. For this reason, many breeders charge more for puppies that will be available to go home around the holidays. Why Are Goldendoodles So Expensive? Why are Goldendoodles so expensive? The simple answer is supply and demand. Poodle mixes are extremely popular due to their adorable, teddy-bear looks and also their likelihood to be allergy-friendly and low-shedding. On the other hand, reputable breeders struggle to keep up with demand and often have waitlists that extend months, or even years, down the road. All Goldendoodle puppies should come with at least their first round of vaccinations, deworming, up-to-date flea and tick prevention, and a vet check. Most reputable Goldendoodle breeders also offer a health guarantee on their puppies. This can range anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. Usually, breeders will send your new puppy home with a few basic items like a blanket, toy, collar, and a small bag of food. In almost all cases, you will be required by a breeder to place a deposit to secure your selection from a particular litter. Be extremely careful sending money to any breeder who you have not personally visited. Do your due diligence to make sure they are legitimate. Many scammers are out there luring eager Goldendoodle buyers in with adorable, fake or stolen puppy pictures only to take their deposits and never be heard from again. Lifetime Cost of Owning a Goldendoodle If you thought the price of a Goldendoodle puppy was expensive, you might want to sit down for this. Here is the average lifetime cost of owning a dog according to a few, reliable sources which utilized major research studies to arrive at their conclusions:. Before buying or adopting any dog, it pays to do your homework. Knowing where to search for your next dog, what to look for in a reputable breeder, and what you should expect to pay can improve your odds of bringing home a healthy dog at a reasonable cost. Purebred dogs have national breed clubs that provide information about the breed. Though the goldendoodle is a crossbreed, a national organization called the Goldendoodle Association of North America supports responsible breeding and pet ownership. Cost of Adopting a Goldendoodle Goldendoodles occasionally find themselves in need of rescue when people buy puppies from unscrupulous breeders who make unrealistic guarantees, or when new pup parents find themselves unprepared for caring for their goldendoodle. For instance, reputable goldendoodle breeders should never guarantee that a puppy will be 'hypoallergenic' or will not shed. When those adorable goldendoodle puppies start shedding, or when their human has an allergic reaction, the doodle may be in need of a new home. Rescuing an adult goldendoodle is not only a great way to save some money on the purchase price of the dog, but also provides other benefits. Goldendoodle puppies may also end up in rescue occasionally. This adoption fee generally includes the costs of updated vaccines and a spay or neuter surgery, and helps to ensure the organization can continue its lifesaving work. Cost of Buying a Goldendoodle Buying a goldendoodle puppy from a breeder is the most expensive way to acquire a goldendoodle. However, the cost of a puppy varies wildly. Breeders from different states may charge more, and the cost of a larger size goldendoodle may be different than a smaller goldendoodle. Some breeders also charge more for more desirable colors or coat types. Responsible goldendoodle breeders put a lot of money into their breeding programs, which is why their puppies cost a lot. Such breeders purchase or keep high-quality dogs for their breeding programs, perform genetic health screenings on the parents before breeding them, maintain pedigrees and pair dogs thoughtfully to better the breed. Reputable breeders also pursue thorough veterinary care for their adult dogs and puppies, feed high-quality diets, register their litters with the proper organization, and never overbreed their females or breed more puppies than they can responsibly care for. Due to the efforts they put in to produce healthy, high-quality dogs, good breeders usually offer a health guarantee on their puppies. Such breeders may simply breed together any male and female they happen to own and sell the resulting puppies. When a goldendoodle breeder tells you the price of buying a puppy, ask about their breeding program, genetic screening and health guarantees to find out what you are paying for. Additionally, be aware that some pets stores sell goldendoodle puppies along with many other breeds of puppies. It is very difficult to obtain accurate information on breeders who supply to pet stores, and in many cases, animal welfare experts worry about these puppies coming from puppy mills. A puppy mill is often described as a commercial dog breeding operation where the goal is to produce as many puppies as possible without regard for their health and the welfare of the breeding dogs. Both the adult dogs and puppies often have poor health, are exposed to more infectious diseases, and tend to have ongoing health problems in additional to coming from inhumane living conditions. For this reason, it is best to avoid purchasing a puppy if it has a questionable origin. One significant cost to consider for goldendoodles is the cost of professional grooming. Almost all goldendoodles need to have their hair trimmed by a groomer. Some goldendoodles may need grooming once a month; others can go about eight weeks in between haircuts.
