The vet said, she was almost bred to death. She had heart-worms and various other injuries, but she's now HW free, spayed, and healthy! There are various reasons why your puppy may be vomiting from eating spoiled foods or random objects off the ground to motion sickness. It's important to keep a proper eye on your puppy if it's acting lethargic after throwing up or repeatedly vomiting throughout the day because you may need to seek veterinary help. Why Do Puppies Vomit? Many cases of dog vomiting result from gastric irritation due to eating inedible objects, spoiled or rich food raiding the garbage, table scraps , or simply eating too much too fast. Dogs and puppies may also vomit due to motion sickness during car rides or from poisoning or swallowing dangerous objects. Puppies are at special risk for infectious causes of vomiting, particularly if they have not completed their vaccination series. For example, vomiting can be a sign of canine distemper virus or canine parvovirus. Intestinal parasites are another common cause of vomiting in puppies. In deep-chested breeds, unproductive vomiting may be a sign of bloat. Other causes of vomiting include organ dysfunction liver and kidney, for example , Addison's disease, gastrointestinal ulcers, anatomic abnormalities, pancreatitis, abdominal infections, and inflammatory bowel disease. Repeated vomiting, vomiting along with diarrhea , unproductive vomiting retching or dry heaving , vomit that contains blood or other abnormal materials, or vomiting in a puppy that acts lethargic or confused are all serious situations that require a visit to the vet. Differences Between Vomiting and Regurgitation Vomiting is different from regurgitation. Vomiting is an active process that is accompanied by retching and abdominal contractions. Regurgitation, on the other hand, is passive. Dogs may even appear surprised when food comes out of their mouths. Regurgitation can occur minutes to hours after your dog eats its food, and the expelled material is mostly undigested and may even be tube-shaped like the esophagus. Your veterinarian will need to differentiate between regurgitation and vomiting because the two symptoms have very different causes and treatments. Treatment and Prevention Vomiting may be a sign of a dangerous illness. Even if the underlying cause is not serious, vomiting for any reason can result in dehydration and other problems that can kill puppies very quickly. Feed Mild Foods Your veterinarian may recommend a mild diet for a few days to help your puppy recover. Foods are available from your vet, or you can prepare white rice and boiled white meat chicken with the skin and bones removed to give your puppy a little nutrition while recuperating. Also, make sure your puppy continues to drink adequate amounts of water. Call your vet ASAP if your puppy vomits after eating a mild meal or drinking water. If your puppy has a more serious condition causing its vomiting, your vet will prescribe appropriate medical treatment. Hospitalization may be necessary in severe cases. Slow Down Eating If your puppy is healthy but wolfs down its food and throws up right after eating, it may be eating too fast. Try to work on slowing down how fast your puppy eats. Feed puppies in separate rooms to cut down on " competition " eating. Place a large inedible object in the dish so the puppy is forced to eat around it. Feed your puppy several small meals a day. Inducing Vomiting in Puppies Puppies are known for ingesting things they shouldn't, and there may be occasions when you need to induce vomiting so your puppy doesn't absorb toxins. However, there are some instances when you should never induce vomiting--for example, if your puppy swallows something sharp, if your puppy ingests caustic material such as drain cleaner, or if your puppy loses consciousness. Always consult your vet before giving your puppy any medication, including anything to make it throw up. If your vet gives you the go-ahead, hydrogen peroxide solution is the best over-the-counter option for getting your dog to vomit. If you suspect your pet is sick, call your vet immediately. For health-related questions, always consult your veterinarian, as they have examined your pet, know the pet's health history, and can make the best recommendations for your pet. There are varying factors that determine prices on each litter. We do have a contract we send out once a pup has been chosen which goes over the whole guarantee and adoption agreement. Deposit payments are only accepted zelle at this time. No other forms of payment for deposit will be accepted at this time. We update the pups photos once a week until 7 weeks of age, typically on the day of the week they were born. I do my best to keep to that day, unless something comes up, then they might be delayed by a day. Photo day can be extremely time consuming, if you can imagine. One litter typically can take between hours to do photos, so typically they get uploaded by late afternoon to early evening. Once puppies are chosen. We do updates more than most breeders we know as we have purchased from other breeders and rarely got photos more then every weeks. If updates are done more than that, you will not be able to see or appreciate the growth process, so we do not do updates more often then that. Because puppies have limited immune systems and require many rounds of vaccines until 16 weeks of age before they are considered fully immune, we take extra precautions to ensure the health of our little ones while in our care. Disease and viruses can easily be tracked and transferred through contact with clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc. To prevent any risk to our pups, we do not show any pups in person. Pups are chosen by pictures and videos posted on our website and social media pages. I do my best to accommodate when trying to choose your new family addition. If more photos or videos are needed to make your decision, please feel free to ask. I do post an "intro video" of every litter. This video is typically posted around 9 to 10 days of age and goes over each puppy in the litter in detail so all markings can be seen on each puppy. When there is a waiting list in place, the puppy picking process does not start until pups are at least 10 days of age to ensure all pups are growing and striving as they should be. Once they reach that milestone the picking process will begin for families on the waiting list. Any pups still available after 8 weeks of age, we will gladly try to set up video meet and greets for the pups and you, if you are interested in any of our available pups. There have been spikes of the deadly virus parvo and also distemper in recent years and we have stopped all in person viewing. Training Levels and Pricing We offer three different levels of training; The Intermediate Level Training program is 5-weeks, at completion, the puppy will be 13 weeks old. At this age the puppies will have been introduced to crate training, and should have very few accidents in their kennel. They should be sleeping through the night hours. The puppies will also be properly socialized to many different sounds, people, places, etc. They will be introduced to all of the commands in the advanced training program however 13 weeks old is still very young and you should not expect a dog at this age to be very reliable in obeying commands; comprehension and proficiency can vary greatly. This level is more for people who are unable to pick their puppy up at the 8 week go home date or are looking for just a little more potty training and have the puppy introduced to the basics. The Advanced Level Training program is our most popular choice. Lasting weeks, at completion the dog is about 4 months old 18 weeks old. The dogs will continue to be socialized properly and learn the following commands: Learn to greet visitors politely at the door no rude jumping or overwhelming your guests. They learn "place" where they go and sit or lie on their bed or mat until told it is ok to get up. No begging is allowed. This is for their own safety, as well as making it more enjoyable to take them places. Travel well in a car. Come Down Stay Walking nicely on a leash. This includes all of the training of the intermediate and advanced level but we work heavily on getting the puppy to be more reliable with their basic obedience by adding more distance, distractions and duration too all of the commands. Our dogs practice these commands in various settings so you can rely on them listening to you wherever you are. With more maturity this puppy will be just that much closer towards being house broken. This is the ultimate level of training that we offer for our puppies other than service dog training.
