I think I was given that pretty name to make up for how I was treated before coming to Badass Bulldog Rescue and my current foster home. Even though my life started out rough, having that name gave me something to rise up to - it's hard to not feel like you have a better life coming when your name is Princess! At first when I came to my foster family's home, I wanted to engage with them but not fully. After a little time, I opened up to belly rubs and now I am a full on cuddler! When I'm the only furbae in the room, I velcro my eyes to whichever foster parent is there and like to stay on their heels. Same when they take me on walks. My pre-foster life was not very active and I've had some babies, so my weight really crept up! I'm on my new health journey now with better nutrition, medical care and exercise and am already seeing positive changes in my figure. I really hope my furever home will keep me active and keep me on track - I'm a short gal so every oz matters! I have an older foster sister and brother and have had some great play sessions with them! Behind us, the sun dumped buckets of orange-hued paint at the foot of a rapidly darkening horizon. There was one person in particular who assumed the brunt of the responsibility. Reynolds, a soft-spoken tree worker from North Carolina, became the surrogate father to all the dogs. About eight feet in length, it sat in front of his tent beneath a shade cloth, a donated kennel from another camper down the beach serving as a bedroom. In reality, I was deeply dog-less. My first and worst pet was a newt that choked to death on a bad worm. Next came a hairless cat my mother bought on Greene Street. We lived in what was essentially one big room, on Broadway. My mother had been the proud owner of Cindy, a shepherd-collie mix with serious aggression issues and a pathological obsession with Ritz crackers. At the age of six, my mother was both her captor and her protector. When it was really hot, he liked to run to the riverbank and roll in dead eels. He survived a German-shepherd attack in which he lost part of an ear.
